Role
Glasgow Women’s Aid provides information, support and temporary accommodation for women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse. We have refuge accommodation, follow on services and outreach services both for women and children across Glasgow.
The purpose of this role is to provide therapeutic support to women experiencing domestic abuse, during their stay in refuge and as they move out into the community. This will involve providing innovative and creative 1-1 and group work support. You will provide person centred support to women as they move through their journey and will advocate to make sure that women’s voices are heard and their needs are met.
It is essential that you have experience of providing support to women who have experienced gender-based violence. A suitable qualification that meets with SSSC Housing Support registration is also required (examples would be HNC Social Services or SVQ Level 3 Social Services and Healthcare). The nature of our work requires a commitment to the feminist analysis of domestic abuse and to the values of Glasgow Women’s Aid. Due to the nature of the role it is essential that you have a driving license and access to a car.

The interview process comprises of two stages. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a Stage 1 interview via Zoom on Friday 13th February 2026 and if successful will be invited to a Stage 2 face to face interview on Thursday 19th February 2026.

The main aim of our Women’s Outreach Service is to provide support to women in their own community and to support women identified as high risk through the MARAC process. You will provide practical and emotional support to women through support planning and will advocate for women to ensure their voices are heard. You will contact women who are referred to MARAC and provide crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning and information about the MARAC process. An important part of this role will be the development and delivery of innovative and creative groupwork.

The purpose of this role is to ensure that all of our sites are maintained to a good standard of repair and decoration. We have several refuge sites across Glasgow and you will be responsible for ensuring that maintenance work gets carried out. You will carry out minor DIY tasks yourself such as building flat pack furniture, fitting curtains and hanging pictures so that our properties are ready for families to move in. You will provide support where special cleans are required and ensure that there is adequate stock of everything we need to make refuge a home. This is a very busy role and the successful candidate will have great customer service skills and a proactive attitude. As we have several sites it is essential that you have a drivers license to drive our van.
The Operational Manager post is a leadership appointment to the EWA management team reporting to the Deputy CEO. There are two operational managers within EWA who work together to ensure that EWA provides a professional and consistent service to women, children and young people accessing our services. The operational managers are jointly responsible for managing EWA services for women and children. Responsibilities of the post include management of day-to-day operations; management of seniors and team leaders; HR management for all operational staff; supporting the development of service delivery; implementation of quality assurance measures and monitoring and reporting on service delivery; active participation in the leadership of EWA.
Location: This post is open to hybrid working between office and home, if the candidate can evidence an appropriate environment for home working, ensuring confidentiality and privacy for calls and online meetings. Time spent in EWA’s offices in Edinburgh will be required, as well as the ability to travel locally.
A satisfactory Disclosure Scotland Adult and Child PVG scheme membership check is required for this position.
Justice Advocacy Support Worker

The overall aim of this post is to provide support and advocacy to survivors who are engaged, or considering engaging, with the criminal justice system following an experience of sexual violence. This role includes supporting survivors to give statements to police and taking on the role of court supporter which can be any Sheriff and High Court within Scotland.
Salary: £29,011 (probationary salary for first year) rising to £31,231 (after 1 year and successful completion of probation period)
Funder: Victim Centred Approach Fund (VCAF)
Hours: 35 fixed term until 31st of March 2027 (potential for extension based on funding)
Location: Dundee & Angus- Travel across Scotland required
Annual Leave: 38 days + 5 public holidays per year, increasing to 42 days + 5 public holidays after 4 years of service.
