We are recruiting volunteers to join our board of trustees. Braeburn Home is a small and unique care home, situated in a quiet residential area in the heart of Inverleith, Edinburgh. We are a private home providing residential, nursing and respite care to older adults.
We are a friendly, dynamic team of Trustees, looking to speak to interested parties that can be either experienced or someone seeking their first opportunity to enhance their skills in a charity board setting.
We are ideally looking for someone who has an understanding of the health and social care sector but this is not essential. Persons with skills in either finance/accounting; nursing, social work/ relevant health care, IT or HR are particularly welcome.
The minimum time commitment includes attending monthly board meetings (approx. 3 hours), but we are hopeful you will use your expertise to further support our senior management on an occasional basis, co-leading on specific projects.

The Service
This service provides individually tailored visiting support to people with a range of complex needs living across Fife. This is a long-term service with individual support packages funded through social work spot contracts.
The Job
In this role, you will be supported to work using a person centred and trauma informed approach and develop effective relationships with people affected by a range of problems, supporting them to cope in difficult times and working towards a good life. You will provide emotional, practical and social support to enable people to live as independently as possible and make informed choices in all aspects of their lives. Your role may involve liaising with other agencies that may be involved with the person you are supporting, advocating on their behalf, and accessing professional help if required and appropriate.
Delivering Personal Care and Administration of Medication are not part of this role.
As this role is Fife wide, driving is a requirement of this role, so a current driving licence and access to a reliable, roadworthy car are essential.

The Service
The Link Academy team works primarily with people with complex and chaotic backgrounds. The service works hard and creatively to maintain the early engagement of participants. We support people by offering mental health and wellbeing programmes, independent living skills and a wide range of qualifications to support their progression including employability, tenancy, youth work and leadership award qualifications.
The Job
The Business Administration Assistant will provide a customer-focused and comprehensive administrative and reception service to the Practice and Participation team and all stakeholders, including support to the Service Manager. The Business Administration Assistant is responsible for providing facilities management within Link Academy ensuring the building is fit for purpose and adhering to Health and Safety policy at all times.
This post will include providing confidential administrative support; dealing with enquiries from a range of agencies; processing referrals, arranging initial assessments, and leading recruitment for courses for youths; preparing papers for meetings and training; tasks, materials and financial record keeping; data entry; stock control and ordering; arranging repairs and servicing for building; raising purchase orders, processing invoices and managing petty cash.
About You
You are an organised and proactive individual with proven experience in an administrative role, confident in managing a varied workload and supporting efficient service delivery. You bring strong written and verbal communication skills, alongside excellent numeracy and literacy, enabling you to produce accurate work and communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
You are highly IT literate, with hands-on experience of Microsoft Office systems including Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as using the internet in a professional capacity. You are comfortable working with database systems and have experience using electronic document management systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
With excellent organisational and time management skills, you can prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team. You use your initiative to solve problems and respond flexibly to changing demands, ensuring a high-quality and responsive service at all times.
You have strong customer service skills and are committed to delivering a positive experience for everyone you work with. You value feedback and use it constructively to improve your performance. Importantly, you have experience of working in a person-centred way, ensuring that the needs of individuals are at the heart of your approach.

We currently have vacancies for Non-Executive Board members on both the main board as well as the group subsidiary board, at a very exciting time for Ark. We are about to launch a stakeholder engagement exercise across the business to consult on our new corporate strategy as well as celebrate our 50th anniversary. As a new Board Member, you will play a key part in developing and enabling the delivery of the strategy for the next 5-10 years and improving the governance framework to effectively monitor performance. This will be clearly focussed upon delivery of high-quality Housing and Care & Support services.
Ark Group Board
We are seeking 2-3 recruits to fill non-exec positions on Ark’s parent Board: Ark Housing Association.
This Board meets 6-7 times per year in a hybrid approach and will require some attendance face to face. We welcome applications from people with experience in Care & Support, Housing/Asset, Finance or Digital Improvement, and understanding of governance in an RSL would be an advantage, however not essential.
Ark Subsidiary Board
We are seeking to strengthen our governance by appointing non-executive directors to our Subsidiary Board and separate from the Ark Group Board to ensure independence. This Board is completely independent from the parent Board. Your role will be to serve both subsidiary companies with meetings being held consecutively, 4 times per year. This board meets on a remote basis and will be the perfect opportunity for people seeking their first Board role, with the opportunity for exposure to two very different businesses; one a commercial/private company and one a registered Charity. We will provide you with a full induction and an opportunity to be mentored by an experienced Board member and we do not expect you to have any previous board experience. Overall, we are looking for dynamic, forward-thinking and enthusiastic people from a variety of backgrounds to contribute to Ark’s emerging future.

The Service
Fife Core Service provides front of house / reception duties to all building users. The team also provide business support services to a range of Fife Support Services.
West Bridge Mill is a multifunctional base which offers temporary supported accommodation, offices, a training space and provides services to the local community. The building accommodates many commercial customers and also houses the 6 LinkLiving Fife Services.
The successful candidate will work as part of the West Bridge Mill core team and liaise closely with the Building Manager to manage the day-to-day running of the building.
The Job
The post holder will provide a customer-focused and comprehensive administrative, support and reception service to the building, Management Team, various Fife LinkLiving Services, residents, commercial tenants and member of the public.
Responsible for overseeing the co-ordination and delivery of repairs throughout the large building, liaising with colleagues throughout the Link Group, internal and external contractors.
The post will include provision of confidential administrative support to all services located in West Bridge Mill, including Residential Accommodation, Better than Well, Older Person Services, Tenancy Support and Employability.
The post holder will work within the reception area of West Bridge Mill, Kirkcaldy and will need to be flexible to cover annual leave and sickness and be able to work without supervision.
About You
You are an organised and motivated individual with the ability to manage your time effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You are confident using computer systems and can quickly adapt to new tools and technologies.
You have strong organisational skills, allowing you to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands while maintaining a high standard of work. You are comfortable working independently, using your own initiative to solve problems and keep tasks on track.
At the same time, you thrive as part of a team, contributing positively and working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals. You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and are confident handling telephone enquiries in a professional and approachable manner.
