Kilmarnock YMCA is a community-based charity dedicated to empowering children, young people, adults, and families across East Ayrshire. We promote wellbeing, inclusion, and opportunity through a wide range of programmes, including our new E-Sports Hub, Climate Action Project, youth activities, and health and wellbeing initiatives.

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. We are now looking for a motivated and organised Volunteer Coordinator to support, grow, and champion our volunteer community—ensuring they feel valued, supported, and able to make a meaningful difference.

Job Purpose

The Volunteer Coordinator plays a vital role in recruiting, supporting, and developing volunteers who help deliver Kilmarnock YMCA’s programmes and events.

You will ensure volunteers are effectively integrated into activities such as youth work, community events, and the E-Sports Hub, while maintaining a supportive, inclusive, and well-organised volunteer culture aligned with YMCA values.

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individuals to join our team. Y sort it Young Carers Service supports young carers aged between 8-18 years across West Dunbartonshire.

This exciting post offers a unique opportunity to work with Young Carers within school, home & community based settings. The role of the Young Carer Support Worker will be to support young carers in making informed choices around issues that are important to them, through one to one, group work sessions & respite.

You will be offering and completing Young Carers Statements (Assessments), developing support plans, providing advice and information, training and group work to support young carers with their caring role.

Young carers are supported through a range of measures to alleviate the caring role and your role will be to work closely with schools, partner agencies and family members to ensure they are able to be a young person first and foremost.

You will be active at providing support and encouragement, helping them to overcome challenges and /or barriers working towards goals to improve their learning, skills and personal development. Offering guidance, rights based information, creating learning opportunities. You will be developing support plans, providing advice and information, training and peer support. Your role will be to work closely with schools, partner agencies and family members.

The post holder should be flexible as the actual times of work will involve working, evenings, school holidays and weekends. The post holder should be flexible as the actual times of work may change to respond to the demands of the work of the Young Carers Service including overnight stays for respite.

Midlothian Young Peoples Advice Service (MYPAS) promotes the health and wellbeing of young people across East Lothian, Midlothian and the Scottish Borders and currently focuses on working in the areas of mental health and substance use. MYPAS is a community-based organisation with charitable status and based in Dalkeith.

Working as part of busy Core Team, the post holder will offer administrative and fundraising support to MYPAS management and service teams designed to contribute towards MYPAS aims and objectives. The key areas of focus for this role are:

1. Administrative support
2. Meeting and events support
3. Communications co-ordination including social media
4. Production of reports and resources.

The successful candidate will have experience of providing administrative support in a service-based organisation, a good knowledge of general office procedures, excellent IT and literacy skills, and the ability to accurately manage databases and spreadsheets.

This post may require evening and occasional weekend work.

MYPAS is a dynamic, values-driven organisation supporting the health and wellbeing of young people. We recently completed a successful competitive tendering process, winning the contract to deliver the Schools Counselling Service on behalf of Scottish Borders Council.

We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced counsellors to join our existing School Counselling team in the Scottish Borders to deliver this service to young people in the Scottish Borders. This is a rare opportunity to join a growing service, work within a dedicated team, and make a measurable difference to the lives of children and young people aged 10–18 in the Scottish Borders.

The postholder will be responsible for providing counselling with children and young people aged 10-18 who attend school or live within the Scottish Borders. The postholder will be attached to specific High School cluster(s).

Qualified to MSC/Diploma level in a counselling therapeutic discipline, a member of a recognised professional body (e.g. BACP, COSCA) and have experience of working with children and young people, you will also be committed to delivering a service according to best practice and within community settings.

The postholder will work within a multi-disciplinary environment and work effectively with other agencies, especially schools, in partnership settings.

This post may require evening and occasional weekend work: some evening and weekend work may be necessary – based on advance notice and a TOIL system.

Special conditions:

· The contract will initially run until 31st March 2028

· The post will involve some planned early evening working and occasional weekend working – based on advance notice and a TOIL system

· You must be able to travel across the Scottish Borders and will be required to occasionally attend meetings in Midlothian or East Lothian

· MYPAS will contribute 6% to the company pension scheme

· The job will be initially on a 3 month probation period.

Place of work: Counsellors will be linked to specific School Clusters with the Scottish Borders, however, travel throughout the region including operating from other venues will be required.

A full driving licence and access to transport or the ability to travel throughout the authority area are required. MYPAS reimburses mileage and supports remote working where appropriate and agreed by line management for administrative tasks.
