About The Gannochy Trust
The Gannochy Trust is a registered charity and was founded in 1937 by Arthur Kinmond Bell (known as A K Bell) who was a partner in the Arthur Bell and Sons whisky business. A K Bell established the Trust to manage and develop the housing estate he had built in the Gannochy area of Perth, and to distribute any surplus funds for the benefit of charities and other public causes in Perthshire. The work of The Gannochy Trust today has been developed to support the full realisation of their founder’s visionary philanthropy; providing over 260 houses for affordable rent, managing a range of farms, woodlands and community facilities, and as an independent funder, distributing around £4.5 million in grants annually. The work of the Trust is both varied and interesting, and is managed by a dedicated board of Trustees and a small staff team based at their Head Office in Perth.
The Role – Finance Administrator
The Gannochy Trust have engaged Jenson Fisher to lead the recruitment process for a Finance Administrator and we are seeking applicants with a strong background working across daily bookkeeping, general administration and providing a key support function to the wider organisation itself.
On a day to day basis your responsibilities will include:
- Support the management function to ensure that financial and administrative deadlines are acheived.
- Process payments on a weekly basis, ensuring that all records are maintained accurately using Sage.
- Checking and coding invoices as required alongside checking authorisation levels.
- Bank reconciliations on both a weekly and monthly basis.
- Support with the month end process and developing your skills in this area as required.
- Assist during the year end process including collating year end information for the external accountants and auditors.
- Assist with the maintenance and updating of the records relating to the Trust’s investment portfolio.
- Resolving any finance queries from both internal and external stakeholders.
- General office administration including handling emails, directing calls and maintaining strong filing records.
In this role, there will be considerable scope for progression and development and as a result this may suit someone who feels like they have achieved all that they can within their current role. To be successful in this role, it is critical that you have previous finance experience alongside the ability to work as part of a small team, contributing at all levels to ensure that operations run as smoothly as possible.

Join the Why Not? Trust team as a Community and Engagement Team Member – Thinking Space. Due to further development, we are now offering a second full-time appointment.
Thinking Space is a unique initiative funded by The Henry Smith Foundation, designed to support care-experienced young people across Scotland. Underpinned by Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) principles, Thinking Space uses mapping techniques to help young people explore their past, understand how previous experiences and relationships influence their present circumstances, and consider the potential impact on their future.
This confidential and safe environment enables participants to develop positive coping strategies and build resilience. Following your induction and initial training, you will work directly with care-experienced young people in specific locations, offering them the opportunity to reflect on how past relationships may have shaped their sense of self, decision-making, and ability to form new connections. You will also support them in exploring learned coping mechanisms and adopting healthier alternatives.
As part of The Why Not? Team, you will have access to ongoing support and professional development opportunities to enhance your practice and impact. This role will be line managed by the Why Not Trust, Operational Lead. A UK driving license is required for this role. A secondment will be explored if requested.

The Role of CEO:
In 2026, as EFCT celebrates its milestone 25th event and welcomes its 1,000,000th visitor, the organisation is looking to the future and seeking a visionary Chief Executive to lead its next chapter.
The new CEO will work in close partnership with the Board of Trustees to steer the long-term strategic direction of the charity, ensuring the continued success, sustainability and creative evolution of its flagship event. They will safeguard the Trust’s financial health, uphold best-practice governance, and provide strong, values-led leadership to the operations, creative, and production teams. As the public ambassador for EFCT, the CEO will build and nurture key relationships with partners, funders, local authorities, media, and the wider community—protecting the reputation of the event and amplifying its impact.
The CEO will also oversee the Trust’s community grant-giving programme, ensuring that the surplus generated by the event continues to benefit organisations across Highland Perthshire in meaningful and impactful ways. With responsibility for strategic planning, financial management, operational delivery, risk oversight and compliance, they will ensure that the Trust continues to operate transparently, ethically, and sustainably.
Candidates will bring proven senior leadership experience, ideally gained in a creative, cultural, events, charity or tourism environment. They will have successfully led organisations through development and change, managed complex operational programmes, and implemented financially sound, future-focused strategies. A strong communicator and relationship-builder, they will demonstrate high emotional intelligence, commercial acumen, and an ability to inspire multidisciplinary teams.
