Penicuik YMCA-YWCA are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Youth Development Worker who is committed to developing and supporting young people through a universal youth work programme approach.

The universal youth work programme supports young people in Penicuik through the provision of community youth clubs at our dedicated Youth Hub and with partners.

The universal youth work programme provides key frontline services supporting local young people. Through our universal youth work approach, we provide real opportunities for young people to form new friendships. Improving their communication, understanding, confidence and self-esteem by providing opportunities to participate in a range of activities and projects, normally unavailable to them. We build positive relationships with local young people, encourage them to engage in something that will inspire them to make good choices, develop ambition and support them to achieve personal milestones that will lead them to create their own personal, positive pathways.

Our Youth Development Worker post is initially for a fixed term of 12 months, 16hrs per week at £14.50 per hour, annual salary £26,390 pro rata.
