RASASH (Rape and Sexual Abuse Service Highland) provides free, confidential support and information to anyone affected by sexual violence in Highland (age 13+). This includes survivors of sexual violence and their non-abusing partners, friends, and families. We support all genders – women, men, non-binary, trans and gender non-conforming, while recognising that sexual violence disproportionally affects women and girls.

We also develop and deliver training and workshops to schools, youth groups, and professionals on a range of topics related to sexual violence and gender equality. This, alongside our youth-led campaigning, is part of our work to change societal attitudes which contribute to sexual violence and the shaming of survivors.

RASASH is the only specialist sexual violence service in Highland. Our service is women-led and trauma-informed.

We are looking for new Trustees to join our Board to help guide our strategic direction and ensure we continue providing essential support to survivors across the region.

We have a vacancy for a Family Support Worker to join our Fife Family Support team. This post will support the delivery of Fife Family Support Service, alongside the Family Support Development Officer and Family Support Officer. This includes delivering community-based services that specifically address the needs of families affected by alcohol and drugs.

The post is located in Fife, includes home working, and has an NHS Fife area-wide remit involving significant travel throughout the area and some to our offices in Glasgow. It is expected that the post holder will be required to work some evenings and occasional weekends. Due to the nature of this post, access to a car is essential. This post will be part of Scottish Families’ staff team and be supervised by the Family Support Development Officer – Fife Family Support Service.

The post-holder will be responsible for delivering a range of support services in Fife to families and support groups affected by someone else’s substance use, ensuring an effective response to the needs of support groups and evaluating and demonstrating the impact of our services. This includes facilitating family support groups, working with individuals on a one-to-one basis, and delivering evidence-based interventions, with the support of the Family Support Development Officer, as required.

Applicants should be educated to HNC level, vocational qualification (level 3) or relevant professional qualification, with experience of direct client work, group work and direct work with families. We are seeking someone with knowledge of issues for families affected by substance use, and the ability to facilitate family support groups, with strong organisational skills, effective interpersonal and communication skills, and an empathetic approach.

Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Our aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families, we campaign for the rights of people with dementia and fund vital dementia research.

What you’ll do

The Support Worker will provide a combination of personal care, care at home and housing support to people with dementia in their own homes. The post holder will be part of a dedicated team that will ensure that the highest quality of service is provided.

We are looking for a unique person who can support people with dementia, living within their own home in a Supported Living Service, personalised to the tenants needs.

Our support workers are our most important people as they provide front line support.

Our support workers help tenants to maintain skills and independence by providing support and care with all aspects of daily living.

You will be working shifts, including Day Shift, Back Shift and Nightshift and will be working weekends and Public Holidays to meet the needs of the people you support.

What you’ll have

Successful applicants will have a positive approach to dementia. You will also have good communication skills and a caring attitude. A willingness to learn and participate in training is essential. Relevant qualifications and/or experience of working with people with dementia is essential.

You will have or be willing to work towards an SVQ level 3 in Care.

About Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC)

Aberlour Child Care Trust is leading a Partnership of Highland Council, Barnardos Highland Services and Right There to provide practical support care and integration to Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC).

The location for this role is 5 Huntly Place, Inverness, IV3 8HA.

This is a partnership which focuses on three areas – feeling safe and settling in, support and integration, throughcare aftercare with the aim of improving the lives of children by using a rights-based trauma informed approach.

The service will work in partnership to ensure that the young people have access to education and learning opportunities.

What we are looking for....

We are seeking to recruit a Project Worker to work 37.5 hours per week for a fixed term period to 31st March 2026. You will support the Service Manager in planning support and integrating Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking children into the community. You will engage with the young people helping them to find their way around the community. You will have problem solving abilities to enable them to participate fully in having their needs met and participate in opportunities to develop. You will support the young people to travel independently around the local area and learn to use public transport. You will also support them to pursue their hobbies and interests linking in with community groups and access community facilities. As English will often not be their first language you will work with them to identify their communication needs, adapting your communication style accordingly. You will also liaise with local agencies, developing collaborative professional working relationships working together for the benefit of the children. You will also attend a range of group meetings to discuss the progress of the children and young people.

You must be comfortable working in a culture based on respect, integrity, innovation and the ability to challenge – both yourself and other people. We support our staff to be as effective as they can be through dedicated training and supervision. In return our staff act as exceptional role models supporting the children and young people, as well as sharing knowledge and learning with colleagues.

Ideally, you will have a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above, or be willing to work towards this.
