For over 30 years, we have been dedicated to preventing youth homelessness and supporting young people in building better futures.

We are looking for a psychotherapist, allied health professional, and/or counsellor to join our team. The Health and Wellbeing Worker will be based within the Youth Development Team but will work with other teams in the organisation.

The Health and Wellbeing Worker will use a person-centred approach with young people to build trust and enable them to improve outcomes with a focus on:

• Mental and emotional health, self-esteem, and confidence
• Relationships, boundaries, and safety

The Health and Wellbeing Worker will work with young people within a psychotherapeutic role in one-to-one support and group work. Where appropriate they will support young people to gain additional support from statutory services.

Cyrenians’ Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution (SCCR) is a National Resource Centre for best practice in conflict resolution, mediation and early intervention work with a particular focus on young people and families. Our award-winning digital resources, free training and events improve understanding of conflict and emotional needs, to transform relationships and lives.

About the role

The Emotional Health and Wellbeing Lead will ensure that the SCCR continues to evolve and extend its reach. Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Engage with young people to review and develop our services, ensuring their voices are heard
• Deliver workshops and presentations, and contribute to our range of digital resources
• Maintain and develop working relationships with schools and other youth organisations
• Monitor and report on the progress of our work

About you

We are seeking a committed and self-motivated individual with experience in conflict resolution, research, psychology and creative practices. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to work under your own initiative, while also working in a team environment. You should also have:

• Experience of engaging with children and young people
• Excellent IT and communication skills, including developing inclusive training material
• Able to demonstrate our values of compassion, respect, integrity, and innovation in the work that you do.

If so, join as the Executive Assistant to the Director of Shelter Scotland, and you’ll play a vital role in keeping our leadership team running smoothly.

About the role

The Executive Assistant (EA) is responsible for the efficient running of the Director’s office and for providing executive support for the Directorate Leadership Team. The EA also provides full secretariat support for the Shelter Scotland Committee and ensures effective communication between the Directors of Shelter, the 6 Directorate Leadership Teams and with the Shelter Executive Leadership Team.

Role specifics

We are looking for a highly organised and discreet individual to provide executive-level support to the Director and Assistant Directors of Shelter Scotland, as well as wider senior management. You will manage the Director’s office, coordinate a busy diary, handle confidential communications, and act as a key point of contact both internally and externally. You will also provide secretariat support to the Shelter Scotland Committee, ensuring smooth planning and delivery of meetings, agendas, and follow-up actions. The role involves liaising with internal teams such as Media and Policy Advocacy, supporting internal communications, managing documentation and systems (including SharePoint), and offering project and administrative support across the leadership team. A proactive approach, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience of working in a fast-paced environment are essential.

About the team

The Directorate Leadership Team (DLT) comprises the Director and the 2 Assistant Directors and meets fortnightly, ensuring oversight of all aspects of the development and delivery of Shelter Scotland’s plans.

Who we are

Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Our aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families, we campaign for the rights of people with dementia and fund vital dementia research.

What you’ll do

You will be responsible for supporting people living with dementia to achieve good outcomes using a range of therapeutic interventions, resources and activities as appropriate. Working as part of the Registered and Commissioned Services/Community Connections team you will have responsibility for ensuring that services are of the highest quality and meet Alzheimer Scotland’s vision for unique therapeutic, highly person-centred support.

You will work with the wider team and Day Services Manager to ensure safe practice and delivery of high-quality, person-centred, therapeutic Registered and Commissioned Services/Community Connections, ensuring practice complies with Alzheimer Scotland’s policies. You will contribute to evidencing, reviewing and continually improving the quality of the services and will participate in internal audit and Care Inspectorate inspections.

You may operate within a building-based Day Care or as part of a Community Connection team delivering Community Groups and Outreach services across an allocated area. At times, this will involve working without supervision in the absence of the Day Services Manager.

You will work with the wider team to evidence that services meet Alzheimer Scotland’s Quality Guarantees, Scotland’s Health and Social Care standards and other quality frameworks including those of the Care Inspectorate where relevant. This includes ensuring that the activities and support offered meet the identified personal outcomes of those attending the services.

What you’ll have

The successful candidate will have a good understanding and/or experience of working with or supporting people living with dementia and their families. This will include an understanding of the benefit of high quality, evidence based therapeutic activity, ongoing evaluation, quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care Standards and SSSC codes of practice and the Care Inspectorate and their role in registered services.

Understanding and knowledge of dementia, mild cognitive impairment and Brain Health and experience of working with or supporting people living with dementia and their families.

This position requires applicants to be registered with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). Successful candidates are expected to hold a professional qualification in health, social work or related field equivalent to SCQF Level 6 (SVQ 2).

Full driving license and access to a vehicle during working time is essential for this post.
