Equal Say has been providing advocacy for people with disabilities since 1995. We want to recruit a new worker for our project in Lanarkshire working with adults with disabilities, mental ill health and/or long-term conditions.

• Experience of casework in a community setting

We offer 37 days holiday, employer pension contribution of 8.75% if the employee contributes 6%, travel allowance, company mobile phone/laptop and flexible working.

Access to suitable transport and driving license are essential for this position due to the size and nature of the Local Authority area covered.

This post is subject to membership of the PVG scheme and suitable references. Starting salary is dependent on experience and highly experienced staff may start higher up the scale.

Clydebank Asbestos Group is a leading Scottish charity dedicated to providing support to victims of asbestos and silica-related diseases. We offer assistance in accessing welfare benefits, pursuing compensation claims, and campaigning for justice and legal reforms regarding asbestos and silica dust-related diseases. We collaborate with local Scottish and UK elected representatives, other charities, and campaign groups to ensure that the rights of asbestos and silica victims are protected and their voices are heard.

Position Overview:

CAG is seeking a committed and organised Administrative Assistant to provide vital administrative support to the charity. This role is part-time, with 3 working days per week, and will involve a variety of office-based tasks as well as some travel to assist with home visits. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues. A driving licence and use of a car are essential for this position, as there may be occasions when the role involves assisting with home visits.

These maternity cover posts are a great opportunity to join CAPS’ Children and Young People’s small friendly team to provide individual advocacy to children and young people who are going through the Children’s Hearings system. CAPS is the main provider of advocacy for this issue to children and young people aged 5-18 in East Lothian and Midlothian. CAPS is also the alternate provider for this work in Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders, so travel to work in these areas will also be expected.

The focus of the work is the provision of independent advocacy to support children and young people to express their views and wishes when going through the Children’s Hearings process. Experience of working with children and young people is required as well as proven skills in communicating with them. Advocacy training will be provided.

This post will be subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme for regulated work with children.

There will be a 4-month probationary period attached to these posts. Face to face work with children and young people is the focus of the role but some home working is also possible with the agreement of your line manager.

This post is fixed term for 12 months initially to cover maternity leave however may continue thereafter subject to expansion of the CAPS’ Children’s team.
