Fife Communities Climate Action Network (FCCAN) is a network of community groups in Fife that are taking action on climate change. Our aim is to empower and enable communities to create a low carbon future and promote local resilience and well-being.

We have two exciting opportunities to join a team delivering Fife Climate Hub, funded by the Scottish Government.

The Scottish Government is building a network of regional community climate action hubs. These will provide a strategic regional approach to climate change action. The network of regional hubs will support communities to take action and will drive wider behaviour change.

Fife Communities Climate Action Network has been funded to develop and run a climate action hub for Fife. Our vision is for a regional hub supporting Fife communities to take practical local action on the climate emergency. The hub will provide advice and support, promote collaboration across communities and sectors and enable learning.

Climate action needs to be everyone’s business. We will reach beyond the people and communities who are already engaged in climate action and engage with people and groups at all stages of their journey. We will raise awareness of climate change, highlight positive examples and inspire action. We will work with a wide range of people and groups to reach different audiences including youth groups, sports clubs, faith groups, equalities groups, community halls, arts groups and community councils.

The Project Manager will ensure the Hub and its aim, objectives and outcomes are delivered on time, within scope and budget. This includes producing an action plan, guiding principles and a process for monitoring and reviewing the success of the pilot after its launch. The Project Manager will oversee the organisation of promotional events aimed at encouraging collaboration and engagement with stakeholders and partner organisations. The role also involves overseeing the development and delivery of the Hub’s communication and PR strategy and supervising staff responsible for PR and Communications.

The Communications and PR Officer will contribute to the delivery of the Hub and its aim, objectives and outcomes by planning and delivering its communication and PR strategy. This includes developing a communication plan, creating and managing website and social media channels, writing and disseminating publicity material and engaging with the public and the media. The role also involves organising engagement and promotional events and encouraging collaboration and engagement with stakeholders and partner organisations.

With support and investment from Impact Funding Partners, we are recruiting for a Volunteer Coordinator to build on Westfield Park Community Centre’s (WPCC) volunteer engagement strategy with the local community. The post will be responsible for volunteer recruitment needed to support the development of a programme of activities and events and to meet the needs of the local community.

The position is 20 hours per week, with a degree of flexibility and incorporating occasional evening and weekend work. Salary at full time equivalent is £24,000 on a fixed term 1 year contract. WPCC offers 29 days Annual leave and will include 2 fixed public holidays. The organisation contributes equivalent to 6% of the post’s salary into the pension scheme.

The Volunteer Coordinator will contribute to the day-to-day management and smooth running of WPCC, ensuring that WPCC is a vibrant, welcoming and well managed facility that operates for the benefit of the local community and the residents of the Falkirk District area.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate relevant experience in recruiting, training and supporting volunteers and have a very good understanding of community development and challenges facing local communities. Relevant experience of the third sector would be beneficial.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Officer who shares our values and will use them to guide the way they work on a daily basis. You will be accountable to our Maintenance Manager in delivering a high-quality repairs service that our customers are satisfied with.

You should:

• Have excellent building/technical knowledge with comprehensive knowledge of housing maintenance, construction, building processes

• Have excellent IT skills including proficiency in digital repairs systems, customer relationship management databases and Microsoft 365, to include Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word

• Have excellent communication skills being a clear and effective communicator at all levels including the ability to explain technical information to laypersons

• Have knowledge and experience of repairs management databases

• Have good knowledge of Annual Return on the Charter for Registered Social Landlords
