Role
We are looking for someone who is passionate, motivated, kind and calm who can work productively as part of a forward-thinking, problem-solving team.
Key responsibilities will include working directly with women who have experienced domestic abuse in one-to-one and group settings, providing person-centred and led support.
Applicants should possess excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and flexible and have proven experience of supporting women in a similar environment.
The ideal candidate would have:
- The post requires applicants to hold an SQA qualification in domestic abuse advocacy, (IDAA), or be willing to work towards this qualification.
- Experience of working with MARAC.
- Applicants should have an understanding of domestic abuse and violence against women.
- Applicants should demonstrate a willingness to participate in training and informing external groups and services on the various aspects of domestic abuse and VAWG.
- Have a full UK licence and the use of a car.
- Be willing to go through training to become a Freedom Programme facilitator.
- PVG membership.
- Up to date knowledge of legislation surrounding domestic abuse.
Post open to women only in accordance with Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 Work Occupational Requirement Exception.
The successful candidate will work within a progressive, focused team and will participate in increasing and expanding the outreach of our services into the community.
Full induction training will be provided.

Western Isles Rape Crisis Centre is looking to recruit an experienced support worker to join our team. The overall aim of the post is to provide one-to-one support to survivors of sexual violence.
For this role we are open to discussing the possibility of reduced hours, flexible start and finish times, or compressed hours.
A clean driving licence and use of own car is essential to this post.
Relevant PVG and disclosure checks will apply.
This post is fully funded by the Scottish Government until 31st March 2026.

Hemat Gryffe Women’s Aid is seeking to recruit a women’s worker to provide support to vulnerable women who have experienced domestic abuse.
Hemat Gryffe Women’s Aid supports women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse, forced marriage and honour-based abuse primarily from the Asian, Black and Minority Ethnic community.
Experience of working with women and knowledge and understanding of the impact of domestic abuse, forced marriage and honour based abuse on women from minority ethnic backgrounds is required.
A suitable qualification that meets the needs of the Scottish Social Servies Council (SSSC) housing support registration is required otherwise training will be provided.
The nature of our work requires a commitment to the feminist analysis of domestic abuse and values of Hemat Gryffe Women’s Aid.
Women’s Support and Advocacy Worker with MARAC

Fife Women’s Aid are looking for a full-time member of staff to join our existing MARAC team, working with women experiencing domestic abuse who are at high levels of risk.
If you want to help make a difference in the lives of women, children and young people with experience of domestic abuse, have direct experience of providing one to one person-centred support, an understanding of the causes and impacts of domestic abuse along with good interpersonal skills then you may be the person we are looking for. Applicants will have at least 2 years’ experience of working in a support or advocacy role. The MARAC team is a small supportive team with a wealth of experience to share with new workers. Training will also be provided for the successful candidates.
The successful applicant(s) will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in social care or other relevant subject, or equivalent experience and willingness to work towards a qualification.

Fife Women’s Aid are looking to recruit a part-time member of staff to provide advice, advocacy, support and services to children, young people and families who have experienced domestic abuse. Applicants should have experience of providing support in a relevant social care setting.
The successful applicants will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in childcare or other relevant subject, or equivalent experience and willingness to work towards a qualification.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high degree of motivation and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as flexible hours to suit the needs of families. An ability to cover on-call is an advantage (additional payments are made for this role).
