Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker

Role

We are looking for someone who is passionate, motivated, kind and calm who can work productively as part of a forward-thinking, problem-solving team.

Key responsibilities will include working directly with women who have experienced domestic abuse in one-to-one and group settings, providing person-centred and led support.

Applicants should possess excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and flexible and have proven experience of supporting women in a similar environment.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • The post requires applicants to hold an SQA qualification in domestic abuse advocacy, (IDAA), or be willing to work towards this qualification.
  • Experience of working with MARAC.
  • Applicants should have an understanding of domestic abuse and violence against women.
  • Applicants should demonstrate a willingness to participate in training and informing external groups and services on the various aspects of domestic abuse and VAWG.
  • Have a full UK licence and the use of a car.
  • Be willing to go through training to become a Freedom Programme facilitator.
  • PVG membership.
  • Up to date knowledge of legislation surrounding domestic abuse.

Post open to women only in accordance with Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 Work Occupational Requirement Exception.

The successful candidate will work within a progressive, focused team and will participate in increasing and expanding the outreach of our services into the community.

Full induction training will be provided.
