Role
Under the guidance of the Islands Estate Manager, the Camas Maintenance Worker’s role is to undertake general maintenance work on the facilities and equipment at the Camas Centre and occasionally on Iona.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring the Camas facilities and equipment are maintained to a safe and high standard, while observing Camas’ environmental and ethical policies. Facilities include the Camas buildings, grounds and track.
- Coordinating and supervising visitors and volunteers in routine maintenance work.
- Liaising with and working alongside outside contractors where necessary.
- Supporting maintenance projects on Iona where required.

St John’s Church, Linlithgow, is looking for an organised and creative Admin & Communications Assistant to support the smooth running of our church life and help us communicate effectively with our congregation and local community.
Working closely with the Office & Operations Manager and the Services, Comms & Media Lead you will provide practical administrative and communications support. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has good administrative skills, and is confident with digital tools and communication platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling general enquiries and supporting day-to-day administration
- Preparing service sheets, notices and other documents
- Updating the website, Facebook and ChurchSuite
- Creating weekly service slides and e-newsletters
- Supporting preparations for services and church events
About You
- Friendly, organised and able to work on your own initiative
- Confident using IT, digital tools and Canva (or similar software)
- Comfortable communicating with a wide range of people
- Supportive of the values and beliefs of St John’s Church
Greyfriars Kirk’s (GK) roots go back to 1620, and the site was a place of worship well before then. Today GK is a member of The Church of Scotland, and it has a small and committed congregation. The roll is about 250 and about 100 attend the main service on Sunday.
The key responsibility is to provide operational support to the Ministry Team to facilitate all practical aspects of services of worship in a respectful and dignified way.
You will be required to manage the Kirk’s core Sunday Services – 9:30am to 10:30am and a Gaelic Service from 11:30am to 12:30pm. You will also be required if available to assist with funerals, weddings and other services (including rehearsals) in the kirk and will be paid in addition to the Beadle salary.

This role will help bridge the digital divide by working collaboratively with third sector partners.
