The team
This role sits within the Home Energy Scotland (HES) partnerships and public engagement team. We work together to extend the reach of our free, impartial advice service, especially to households facing fuel poverty.
We collaborate with community groups, third sector organisations, and employers to make sure more people can access support that helps them save energy, reduce costs, and cut carbon.
The role
As Partnerships Officer, you will work with advice centres and community partners to develop projects, share best practice, and ensure support reaches the people who need it most.
This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same. You will be working at both local and national levels to grow our network and help tackle the climate emergency by making energy advice more accessible and inclusive.

• Build and maintain partnerships with third sector and community organisations across Scotland.

• Represent Home Energy Scotland at meetings, briefings and events.

Greener Kirkcaldy is a community-led charity working locally to bring people together, take positive action on the climate emergency and support people through fuel poverty and food insecurity. We deliver a range of projects, events and skills training to achieve the needs and goals of local people – building resilience as a community and working towards a future where everyone can live better and tread more lightly on our planet.
Based in the heart of Kirkcaldy – with a community building, training kitchen, bike shop and garden – we carry out activities across Kirkcaldy and work with partners to deliver projects across Fife.
Our community training kitchen, The Lang Spoon Community Kitchen, is a place for people to come together to cook, eat and learn. It offers training, volunteer and work experience opportunities, community cooking classes and a wide range of events, courses and workshops on all aspects of food and drink.
We run a regular community meal, a community fridge and range of activities for different groups, interests and demographics. This includes projects teaching people skills to cook on a budget, workshops promoting climate-friendly food, employability programmes, kids clubs and income-generating social enterprise classes. We also have a small kitchen garden, growing fresh ingredients. As well as activities on-site, we deliver events and workshops with groups in other community locations across Fife.
The Role
As Community Food Team Manager, you will lead the development, planning and management of our vibrant and busy community kitchen, ensuring delivery of a varied programme of community events and activities, in accordance with our values, funding commitments and social enterprise aspirations. You will also lead the development of new and enterprising ideas to grow our vision of a place for people to come together to grow, cook, eat and learn, working with the Senior Leadership Team to secure the resources to develop new project ideas.
You will use your leadership skills to manage and support the development of a team of four and ensure our Community Food Volunteers are adequately supported, supervised and celebrated.
You will use your existing knowledge of the local social, political and cultural community food landscape to ensure Greener Kirkcaldy continues to be recognised as an informed, trustworthy and impactful organisation by funders, partners and decision-makers in the sector.

About the Consultancy Team
Our Consultancy team offers expert analytical and advisory services to local authorities, housing associations, the Scottish Government, and organisations across the third and private sectors. Our expertise spans the full decarbonisation journey — from energy efficiency and low-carbon heat to renewable energy systems, fuel poverty, and behaviour change.
We support clients to decarbonise their housing assets and contribute evidence to inform policy, planning, supply chains, and finance at both national and local levels.
The Role: Principal Consultant
As a Principal Consultant, you will play a strategic and hands-on role in leading the development and delivery of high-impact research and consultancy projects aligned with Changeworks’ ambition to decarbonise homes and deliver a just transition to net zero.
You’ll manage a portfolio of clients and projects, shaping our service offer to meet evolving needs and maximise our impact. You will lead on business development, including client engagement, competitive tendering, and securing funding, working both independently and in collaboration with other teams across Changeworks such as Retrofit Delivery, Community Engagement & Energy Advice, Home Energy Scotland and Local Energy Scotland.
Your role will also include using Changeworks insights and experience to shape sector policy and practice — through thought leadership, research, public engagement, and participation in working groups. Additionally, you will help innovate new approaches and solutions that support the scaling of retrofit and decarbonisation initiatives across Scotland.

Lochaber Environmental Group (LEG) is charity working on a local scale to benefit people and the environment, which has been in existence since 2000. We run a wide range of projects to help people to reduce their environmental impact and bring our communities together. We have delivered projects covering energy efficiency, active travel, local food, reducing waste/encouraging recycling, repair cafes and composting and have developed a community hydro electric scheme in Glenachulish. LEG works in partnership with many local, regional and national organisations to reduce duplication and increase our reach and effectiveness.
Due to the community hydro scheme, it has now become possible to employ a manager to lead the organisation and increase its effectiveness. The Manager will oversee the general day to day running of the organisation with oversight of staff and overall responsibility for promotion, networking and development. They will be expected to lead new projects.
LEG is currently in transition as a 3 year project on waste finishes. This leaves 4 part time members of staff and some very active volunteers. LEG occupies an open plan office at An Drochaid in Claggan and a cabin and container at Claggan Park. We are exploring the possibility of bringing the whole operation together under one roof and the successful candidate would be a key player in this development.
Specific responsibilities of the role
• Overall responsibility for organisation, while leaving lead staff to work on their own projects
• Liaison with the board in developing strategy and prioritising activity
• Staff management including reviews of lead staff and recruitment
• Fund raising and budgeting in conjunction with volunteer treasurer and book keeper
