About the Role

This vital position is your chance to lead a team of dedicated Regional Family Support Coordinators, providing professional support to families and professionals across Scotland. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to shape, develop, and deliver effective support services tailored to the needs of families. From managing a regional team to influencing local and national strategies, this role is as rewarding as it is impactful.

Role Summary

Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract: Two years fixed term (subject to renewal where funds allow)

Starting salary: £37,827 - £41,039

Probation period: 6 months

• Lead, inspire, and develop a team of Family Support Coordinators across multiple local authorities.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with community justice and local authorities, ensuring the voices of families are heard.
• Develop and improve family support services to meet regional needs, monitoring effectiveness and driving positive change.

We are excited to announce a new staff role within Cruse Scotland for a Client Services Co-ordinator. This a great opportunity for someone who is keen to help bereaved people access the right bereavement support at the right time.

About you:This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys being part of a team who are committed to supporting people through difficult times. The role requires someone who has excellent communication skills, who can readily adapt their style to connect with a varied range of people on a day to day basis, including bereaved people; professionals from NHS, Social Work and Education; colleagues; and partner agencies. You will be someone who enjoys being at the core of operations, who enjoys variety and embracing change.

In addition to strong communication skills, you will be highly organised with robust IT skills and have a keen interest in embracing everchanging tech to support our services. You will be confident organising your own workload, managing conflicting priorities and being part of a team working towards a common goal.

About the organisation:We are Scotland’s leading bereavement charity who provide bereavement support to anyone in Scotland who needs us. The support services offered to clients are delivered by a volunteer workforce who are trained to professional standards and it’s fair to say that their motivation and commitment is contagious. We value their contributions highly, and ensure an excellent programme of initial and ongoing training, as well as support and development opportunities for them.

About the Role:The Client Services Co-ordinator role will support and improve client services across Cruse Scotland. The post-holder will work closely with the Director of Client Services; our 4 geographical area teams; and our helpline team. Key tasks of the role will include: ongoing co-ordination of client waiting lists; talking with bereaved clients and referrers to advise of all options available; data management and input; and supporting the implementation of changes, where new processes are identified

Areas that we are currently exploring changes within include: reviewing and improving client pathway to support National & local processes, changes to telephony and improvements to client administration systems. It would be expected that the post-holder would play a key part in reviewing and supporting the implementation of these.

Given the nature of the work, ongoing training and supervision is provided.

Your new colleagues: Our volunteer workforce of 250 people are located in communities across Scotland, and are supported by a small but mighty staff team of 22. The staff team comprise a mix of roles and talents, which include the co-ordination of client services, management and training of volunteers, income generation and governance of the charity. As a staff team of 22 we connect fortnightly to ensure a real sense of community and enjoy good relationships across the team

Overview of Organisation:

Heavy Sound is a Community Interest Company, incorporated in 2015, based in East Lothian. We work with disconnected young people and adults, re-engaging them through strength-based activities of interest including music, biking, sports, creative arts, education, mentoring and 1:1 therapy. By building trusting relationships we help inspire positive opportunities for further learning, life skills development, and future training and employment.

Job role:

The role is to manage and deliver outreach youth work projects, activities, and events across East Lothian, working in partnership with existing youth clubs and other stakeholders.

Heavy Sound has a 40ft single decker bus, The Community Reach & Inclusion Bus (The Crib) which provides community outreach initiatives including music, creative arts, and bike activities. The role will involve bringing equipment, and on occasions our bus (The Crib), along to youth clubs and community events, and running various activities from it. Activities will mainly be music and bike-based consisting of DJ’ing, electronic music production and basic bike mechanics. If there is not suitable space for The Crib, activities take place in community halls etc.

The role can either be part-time to deliver the above, or potentially full-time if the applicant has an additional skillset in music, creative arts, biking, sports, outdoor pursuits, education, or mentoring.

An ability to drive the bus is not essential but would be highly desirable. Only a normal Category B driving license is required as the vehicle doesn’t carry passengers and is classed as a ‘mobile project vehicle’ by DVLA.

Flexible working is required as there will be evening and occasional weekend work.
