Role

We are currently recruiting a full-time Community Development Officer to join our Communities Team, based in Glasgow, on a fixed term contract.

The post-holder will predominantly support the New Scots Core Group Advisers and their involvement in supporting the implementation of the New Scots Strategy. The group aims to represent and advocate for cross-section of the New Scots communities. As New Scots Core Group members they have a role in monitoring the progress of the New Scots Delivery Plan.

Specifically, this role will focus on our approach to community learning and development. As a consequence, the role will directly contribute to two of our core strategic objectives:

  1. Nothing about refugees without refugees
  2. Our expertise informs good policy, practice and advice

We are looking for a person with either a qualification in community development or equivalent experience; preferably with experience of working with refugees.

As this is a fixed term project you will need to make an immediate contribution to the design and development of the community learning and development approach. In addition to having a friendly, dynamic and gregarious nature, you will need excellent communication skills both face to face and electronic as well as flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving needs.
