DHET requires an ambitious, experienced and talented Information Co-ordinator to promote the work of DHET through an active programme of communication initiatives, provide the office with administrative support and to work alongside other DHET team members to meet the objectives of Dundee Historic Environment Trust.

Job purpose:

To support the work of Rosslyn Chapel Trust by maintaining financial and administrative services.

Main duties:

• Process purchase and sales ledger entries on Xero, following up on outstanding payments when necessary
• Reconcile monthly income (including from Stripe and EPOS Now) and expenditure (including credit card payments) with bank statements
• Produce P&L reports/management accounts, as required
• Liaise with Trust accountants over VAT returns
• Liaise with Trust accountants over annual audit
• Liaise with Trust accountants over payroll data, maintaining records of staff working hours, annual leave and sickness leave
• Oversee the office safe, physical banking arrangements, and order change as required
• Process invoices for group/private visits and allocate accordingly on Xero
• Manage finance email and assist with answering general enquiries by email, post and telephone
• Assist with duties of F&A Assistant as required
• Perform other related duties as required

Person specification:

Essential

• Proven experience of working in a finance role and experience of Xero and Microsoft office software
• Experience of working in a small team
• Good communication skills and ability to manage external relationships
• Experience of providing excellent customer service
• Be honest, trustworthy and be able to maintain confidentiality. Have a good eye for detail and provide accurate information.
• Positive attitude and willingness to assist others in the team

Desirable

• Experience of working for a charity
• Interest in Scotland’s history and heritage

Greener Kirkcaldy is a community-led charity working locally to bring people together, take positive action on the climate emergency and support people through fuel poverty and food insecurity. We deliver a range of projects, events and skills training to achieve the needs and goals of local people – building resilience as a community and working towards a future where everyone can live better and tread more lightly on our planet.

Based in the heart of Kirkcaldy – with a community building, training kitchen, bike shop and garden – we carry out activities across Kirkcaldy and work with partners to deliver projects across Fife.

We lead the Cosy Kingdom partnership, a free and impartial energy advice service available to all tenants and homeowners across Fife. We help people save energy, stay warm while spending less on fuel and develop skills and confidence to take more control of their energy use and bills. Our work plays a vital role supporting people in, or at risk of, fuel poverty and makes an important contribution to tackling carbon emissions and climate change.

The Role

We are looking for two energy advisors to join our team. One permanent and one maternity cover. You can apply for either or both posts.

Our energy advisors delivering energy advice work across Mid and West Fife. You will provide home energy advice and support to householders through a mix of home visits, telephone appointments and drop-in advice surgeries in our building and at community events. This will include support to help people struggling to heat their homes, advice on reducing energy and tips on making homes more climate friendly. You will also refer on to partners and other relevant external agencies for further support.

You will deliver events, talks and workshops to raise the profile of the service and educate people on saving energy, as well as training to frontline workers on how to “spot and refer” people in, or at risk of, fuel poverty.

We will provide training and you will be supported by a great team.
