Background / Context:

Having been operational in Edinburgh and Lothian for many years, Into Work has a long-standing record of successful partnership working and project delivery for disabled people. Due to expansion, we are now looking for suitably experienced and motivated people to join our growing staff team for both our Disabled Adult and Disabled Young People services.

For some people, the idea of being in work or even engaging with employability services, can seem unachievable and quite an unrealistic prospect. To enhance our user experience and encourage engagement, we offer additional in-house wraparound support, including Income Maximisation and Wellbeing input. We really help disabled people take those first vital steps towards making sustainable employment a reality.

Disabled Adults Service – Role Summary:

• Involves working with a caseload of clients on a 1:1 basis, using the 5-stage model of supported employment.
• Collaborating with Income Maximisation and Wellbeing colleagues to provide wraparound support and ensure a positive employment journey for clients.
• Developing working relationships with local organisations to establish appropriate referrals and linking in with employers to promote opportunities.

Disabled Young People Service – Role Summary:

• Working alongside the Young People Service Lead, you will support young disabled people aged 16-24 on a 1:1 basis initially, helping them progress to groupwork over time.
• Supporting young disabled people into positive destinations such as education, training, volunteering, employment and continued support.
• Focusing on young disabled people with no identified positive destination, helping them explore employability, wellbeing and strengthening their community connections.
• Exploring empowerment, with support around self-travel and building confidence to participate in local communities. Helping young disabled people build routine and gain new experiences.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced events professional to join our small, but perfectly formed, Learning & Events team while one of our Senior Officers goes on maternity leave. You’ll be joining the team as we re-focus our efforts to deliver the most cost-effective way to support the children’s sector via our Learning Programme.

The Senior Learning & Events Officer contributes to the successful design, delivery and evaluation of Children in Scotland’s Learning Programme – jointly creating an innovative and financially sustainable programme that supports and connects the children’s sector workforce.

As Senior Learning & Events Officer (maternity cover) there will be no direct line management responsibility, but you will lead on some of the key activities delivered by the team. This includes managing our commissioned training offer and overseeing the successful delivery of contracts. You will also, on occasion, deputise for the Learning & Membership Manager in their absence.

You will be ready to hit the ground running but we will offer you an excellent induction and support through the first couple of months. You will join a brilliant group of supportive staff who are passionate about making a difference to children’s lives and work hard to achieve this.

What you’ll do

We are looking for a Support Officer to join our team to support Zero Tolerance’s work to promote gender equality and primary prevention of men’s violence in youth work, education and the early years.

This is a fixed term post to 31st March 2026.

You will support the development and delivery of the Zero Tolerance Under Pressure programme for youth workers and support the Children and Young People: Policy and Practice Officer to monitor current trends and concerns for youth workers in the area of violence against women and girls (VAWG), identifying key areas to address through Under Pressure training.

The successful candidate will organise training sessions and develop materials to support training and other sessions (e.g. workshops) with youth workers. You will develop and maintain effective working relationships with freelance trainers and partner organisations and represent Zero Tolerance at Children and Young People events as required. This is not a training role; the focus is on providing support for our children and young people work, and co-ordinating the delivery of Under Pressure by freelance trainers and other specialists.

What we need

The successful candidate will have experience of organising training or events and developing resources, with knowledge and understanding of violence against women and gender equality. You’ll be a skilled communicator with the ability to create accessible and engaging resources and present complex ideas to a variety of audiences.

What do we offer?

• Competitive salary with annual pay progression. We operate a grading structure based on five salary grades. New employees start on point 1 of each salary grade and receive annual increments until the top of the grade is reached. This role is Grade 2, pro rata of £28,561 - £31,526

The Lived Experience Trainer (neurodiversity focus) will work closely with our existing team of three Lived Experience Trainers and the Lived Experience and Training Lead. They will develop and deliver bespoke and standard Neurodiversity training to a range of public, private and third sector employers. The focus of our training is to improve employers’ understanding of neurodivergence in the workplace and to help employers develop more inclusive recruitment, induction, management practices and work environments.

For this lived experience role, it is essential that the Trainer is lifelong neurodivergent (i.e. is autistic and/or has ADHD, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Tourette’s/tic disorder or another lifelong neurodivergence). You will need to be comfortable with openly disclosing and discussing related workplace experiences in a training context.
