Key Responsibilities

• Provide independent financial insight and challenge to the executive team.
• Advise the Board on the financial implications of strategic goals, policies, and activities.

Person Specification

Time Commitment

• Attend four Board meetings per year plus the Annual General Meeting (mostly online).

We are now recruiting for a Creative Communities Lead at Art in Healthcare.

We are looking for someone to lead Art in Healthcare’s ambitions to increase access to visual art and creativity for individuals and communities across Scotland, with a particular focus upon individuals and communities that have been over-looked and under-served historically. You will devise, develop and manage a range of creative programmes that meet the needs, interests and aspirations of participants. Working with the wider Art in Healthcare team and Artists you will ensure that our services are inclusive, impactful, developmental and sustainable. You will be part of the management team and will help us to meet our six strategic aims [these can be reviewed in our Strategic Plan].

Who are we looking for?

To succeed in this role, you will already have a good understanding of creative health and significant experience of developing and delivering creative programmes that prioritise access, inclusion and quality. We are looking for someone with at least three years of relevant work experience and a minimum of two years within a role with line management, budget and fundraising responsibilities.

You will have extensive experience of working with diverse audiences including vulnerable individuals and communities. You will also have experience of working with a range of visual artists to develop creative opportunities that are person-centred and that support creative journeys. You will be able to demonstrate your commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and an understanding of the value of lived experience through previous roles.

You will have experience of working in a reflective way, documenting and evaluating programmes and projects, using the findings to shape future developments and for reporting to external funders. You will also have some experience of supporting, developing and managing a small team that includes paid staff and volunteers. Experience of fundraising will be helpful. A knowledge of the visual art sector in Scotland and key organisations within the creative health space will be advantageous.

We are looking for a values-driven graduate to join our highly skilled, motivated, and supportive team.

Over the last 8 years the Academy has evolved from being Scotland-focused with 24 staff to being a global social business with 35 staff in the UK, providing a licensed product to partner organisations in five continents. This transition requires our IT systems to evolve to meet the needs of an organisation in which teams are dispersed, often across different time zones.

This fixed term project is for a skilled graduate to deliver on the practical implementation of the Academy’s IT strategy. Supported by the Head of Global Learning Lab this individual will provide advice and guidance on the practical elements of the roll-out, provide training and coaching support and generally be a ‘champion’ within the organisation for the transition to new and more efficient ways of working enabled by our IT infrastructure.

Background and Job Purpose:

Catalysed by the disruptor that was Covid, the Academy has rapidly developed its online learning offer. This includes asynchronous learning – that is independent online learning which learners can compete at a time which suits them. This is consolidated during live peer learning sessions to ensure impact. A key part of this role is to support colleagues to developed and improve our asynchronous online offer. This involves integration resources and tools from outside sources with our own Online Learning Platform and thereby our learning programmes.

Another exciting current development is the development by the Academy of a Learning Trust to engage with corporates, funders and philanthropists to enable learning and development in social enterprises. The outcome of this is increased social change in our communities. Part of this role will be to develop the ‘landing page’ for our new Learning Trust, again working with experienced colleagues in the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support colleagues to develop a website to engage potential corporates, funders and philanthropists around the creation of a Learning Trust and lead on maintenance and updates to the Academy website to enhance engagement with audiences.
• Supports colleagues to ensure our website is inclusive and showcases our employee value proposition.
• Support colleagues to digitise key learning materials for Social Enterprise Schools, enabling delivery at scale in global regions where market failure prevents market entry with current products.
• Build on existing developmental work to develop game-based learning for pupils developing social enterprises in their schools.
• Embed and enhance the Academy’s use of IT systems and explore opportunities for new systems which can support our work.

Overview

We are seeking a part-time (25 hours per week to be worked flexibly as agreed with successful candidate) Finance & Administration Manager to join our friendly team and manage the charity’s finance and administration functions. The ideal candidate will hold or will be working towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualifications or have an equivalent level of knowledge. At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role is necessary. This role requires excellent Excel skills and experience in producing high-quality financial information using a range of Microsoft software, Xero accounting software (or similar) and familiarity with online banking systems. This is the only dedicated finance role in the organisation and as such, the duties vary from day-to-day operational processing of finances to strategic financial reporting.

The administration management aspects of this role will require the postholder to support the Chief Executive to deliver a variety of objectives including HR, Health & Safety and IT to ensure that there are efficient and effective systems, processes and policies in place to support our people and projects. The ideal candidate will be highly organised and methodical in their approach. They will have excellent time management and prioritisation skills, with the flexibility to respond to changing needs in a dynamic working environment. The role requires excellent communication skills, with the ideal candidate having the ability to both communicate confidently with a wide range of people and to build positive relationships with colleagues, partners and stakeholders.
