We are looking for someone who is passionate about changing expectations and experiences of people we support, many
of whom have experienced significant trauma, exclusion and stigma. They often engage in risk taking behaviours
that put their physical and mental health, and their lives at risk. Despite the challenges they face they have
incredible resilience, survival skills and a wicked sense of humour. They know what a good, and not so good
service looks like.
As Programme Lead for Gambling Harm you will project manage, lead and deliver the organisation's portfolio of
work focusing on gambling. This role will advance the growing body of gambling harm work that Simon Community
Scotland has produced and embed gambling harm across our teams. It will also raise awareness of gambling harm
and homelessness internally and across Scotland, reduce stigma among staff and the people we support, and create
tailored pathways for people at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
This is an emerging and developing area of work for the organisation and the role includes leading and coordinating
projects, workforce training and development, building excellent relationships internally and externally and
driving forward change in this area of work. Gambling can be both a cause and consequence of homelessness and we
are committed to improving what is currently available for people experiencing gambling harm.
