KASP has a part time vacancy for a support worker with a particular emphasis on a good knowledge and understanding of childhood sexual abuse and domestic abuse.
This post requires a highly motivated individual who is capable of providing one to one emotional and physical support to women who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, domestic abuse and associated mental health issues
The successful applicant will have at least 3 years’ experience in providing support in a similar environment. Ideally a relevant health & social care qualification.
Post will involve travel across all areas of Fife.

Barnardo's Stronger Families offers an exciting opportunity to join an established team who are developing Attachment and Trauma Informed Practice models to support families with children aged 0-13 yrs across Fife. Barnardo's has been established in Fife for over 20 years and the Stronger Families service and support to children and families has been a consistent feature within our services across Fife.
Stronger Families offers intensive support to families (6-10hrs per week), and for 6-9mths working alongside partner agencies to prevent family breakdown. This level of support will hopefully help families to make effective and sustainable change to enable the children to safely remain at home.
Due to the intensive nature of this work your caseload will be around 4 families which will enable you to build good relationships with the children, young people & families and through your support will help them effect meaningful change.
You will have experience of working with children & families and will be required to deliver direct services to families who have a range of complex needs.
Experience of working with children and families and a working knowledge of attachment theories and Trauma Informed Practice would be extremely desirable as would a knowledge of The Promise as the principles are embedded into our service delivery.

The Role
Based in Edinburgh, with hybrid working an option, the role involves offering expert care, guidance and support for families, carers and professionals in Scotland. Delivering high quality information and support in a timely manner to enable you to handle a large volume of inbound and outbound calls. You will be required to maintain accurate records that inform the charity and support with service development and meeting our organisational strategy. Today’s generation are facing unprecedented challenges. From mental health, money worries and online harm, to struggles at school, our support line can offer emotional, practical and financial support to any family in Scotland. We also offer advice to anyone who is concerned about a child’s wellbeing. Taking a child-centred approach, you will work to ensure the safety of children and young people by protecting and promoting their rights.
What we are looking for
You will possess a diploma in social work, or a relevant professional qualification (e.g. Health, Education, Community Education) at SCQF level 9, post-qualifying award in child protection, childcare, practice teaching, group work, family work, or counselling. You will have experience managing or supervising staff, volunteers, and students with experience of project planning and an ability to identify and manage risks.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and commited residential project worker to join our short breaks service. We have a full time waking nights shift position available working on a rota basis, including weekends.
About Caern:
Barnardo's Caern Disability Services consists of three unique Projects who deliver a variety of quality services for young people with learning disabilities and/or autism. We have done this for over forty years.
Our Caern Short Breaks service supports up to 5 children and young people at any one time aged 5-18 by offering short break respite packages to them and their families. All staff play an active role in supporting the children, young people and their families/carers to achieve positive outcomes, as identified in the Young People's Individual Support Plans.
About You:
Ideally you will have experience in working directly with children and young people in a similar setting. Experience in supporting children and young people with a learning disability and/or Autism would be an advantage. Communication with the young people is paramount - the key is time tabling; structure; reliability and consistency. You will be faced with behaviours that challenge, including physical.
The staff team across Caern Services must be fully accepting of our children and be prepared to offer them a professional relationship based on acceptance and informed by our understanding of their individual needs, wishes and experiences. We are passionate about the children and young people that we care for, showing understanding, empathy and consistency in our approach.
You will hold (or be willing to work towards) a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above (for example SVQ3 children and young people) plus an HNC in social services. These qualifications are required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as part of your employment. There may be external grants available to partly fund this.

About the role
As an Assistant Service Co-ordinator, some of the responsibilities that you will carry out are:
• Provide support and assistance (practically and emotionally) to people we support in accordance with their support plans and the service aims.
• Assist the Service Manager and Service Co-ordinator to direct and manage the day-to-day operations within the service and to provide line management support to the staff team.
• Devise, review and update support plans, record events and observations and keep appropriate records as required in the service.
• Manage and supervise smaller teams on a day to day basis providing guidance, instruction and direction.

You will have a genuine commitment to use your skills and experience to support people to live their best lives. You will be supported by an incredibly approachable management team, allowing you to expand on your existing knowledge whilst developing new skills. You will have flexibility to work on a rota.
You will have experience of learning disabilities, coaching and developing staff.
About Us – Perth & Kinross Service
At Turning Point Scotland Perth & Kinross, we deliver services for people who have a learning disability or autism and unique and complex behaviours which challenge the service: many of the individuals we support have some forensic histories. We support people who live in 24/7 supported accommodation projects. We also provide support within our outreach service to people with learning disabilities within the area of Perth & Kinross.
We work in a person centred way tailoring support to meet the needs of the people we support maximising choice and autonomy while assessing and managing risk in conjunction with the Tayside Risk Management Group.
