We keep ourselves busy: Live Borders manages more than 60 venues, in addition to providing a range of programmes, to deliver our goals of encouraging cultural engagement, sports participation, and physical activity. We are proud to reach over 1 million sports- and 300,000 culture- participants annually. As a member of our Board of Trustees, you will play a vital role in our governance and strategic direction, helping to guide Live Borders through an exciting period of recovery and growth. The role offers a chance to give back to the region, influence its future, and work collaboratively with others who share your passion for community impact.

Whether you are an experienced board member or considering your first non-executive role, we welcome your unique perspective and expertise.

We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in the following areas:

However, more than technical skills, we value enthusiasm, commitment to our mission, and the ability to work well as part of a team. We are seeking one individual to take on the role of Chair, leading our Board of Trustees – for this role, prior Chair or Vice-Chair experience would be highly useful, as would exposure to public sector non-executive boards and committees.

Trustee involvement will include attending board and committee meetings up to two days per quarter, as well as contributing outside of these meetings to support the organisation’s goals. The time commitment demanded of the Chair is expected to be similar although may at times exceed. These roles are undertaken on a voluntary basis, though reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to support young people in Dundee with their health and well being. The successful candidate will have the experience in supporting young people in groups and through one to ones.

Key responsibilities in the role include:

• Provide a therapeutic environment to engage young people and support their mental health to enable their participation in Helm employability programmes.

• Promote the development of resilience in young people.

• Create an inclusive environment where the voices of young people are heard and respected

• Ensure Helm provides quality services to young people and drive continuous improvement across the organisation

Job Purpose:

• To support ScrapAntics’ CEO in the running of the organisation
• To support and coordinate the team - maintaining a positive and cohesive working environment
• To manage, document and lead multiple projects
• To maintain business bookkeeping and project accounting spreadsheets
• Internal and external communications and all associated admin duties
• Collaborating on funding applications and reporting as part of the management team

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Project management of commissioned projects
• Internal communications within the team - distributing information, answering questions, carrying out supervisions and being available for support
• Communicating and liaising with external partners and organisations including Dundee City Council and national organisations, ensuring positive relationships are maintained and information is shared
• Creating and collaborating on funding applications and project reporting
• Attending and facilitating organisational meetings; taking minutes and distributing these as appropriate
• Creating and updating/maintaining booking schedules and staff rotas
• Maintaining an overview of larger projects and supporting the project leads to deliver to budget and timescale
• Handling enquiries and taking bookings for activities, play sessions, workshops and space rental
• Creating and maintaining budget spreadsheets
• Maintaining a general overview of ScrapAntics organisational running and communicating changes and issues to ScrapAntics’ CEO

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:

• Experience of working in a thriving third sector organisation
• Passion for sustainability, community and social justice
• Positive leadership skills and experience of managing a team
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a welcoming, friendly and helpful manner
• High level of IT and written skills
• Project management experience
• Experience of applying for and reporting on funding
• Experience of working with budget spreadsheets

VisionPK is an exciting and growing charity, recently opening our new Sensory Hub in the heart of Perth. We provide specialist services for people with sight and hearing loss living within the Perth and Kinross local authority area.

We are currently recruiting a Community Involvement Coordinator, which is a newly created role, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. This role will strengthen VisionPK’s presence in the community by overseeing volunteer recruitment and governance, building stakeholder relationships and managing our telephone befriending project.

The Role

Volunteer Recruitment and Governance

• Collaborate with the CEO to update and implement volunteer management policies, ensuring legal compliance and best practices.
• Develop and deliver induction and ongoing training for volunteers, equipping them with the skills needed to contribute effectively.
• Provide continuous guidance and supervision to volunteers, ensuring a positive experience and high performance in their roles.

Community Engagement and Relationship Building

• Establish strong connections with local community groups, service users, and stakeholders to expand VisionPK’s network and influence.
• Work with community partners to align VisionPK services with local needs and identify opportunities for collaboration.
• Raise awareness of VisionPK’s services through participation in local events, presentations, and outreach activities.

Telephone Befriending Project Leadership

• Lead the setup and delivery of VisionPK’s new telephone befriending project, designed to support isolated individuals with sensory impairments.
• Build and manage a dedicated team of volunteers for the befriending service, ensuring they are well-trained and supported.
• Promote the befriending project throughout the community to engage potential service users and volunteers.
• Track the project’s impact, providing regular reports and recommending improvements as needed.

Raising Awareness and Promoting VisionPK

• Actively promote VisionPK’s services, events, and initiatives through local and digital channels.
• Work closely with the Fundraising Manager to implement community-based fundraising events that engage local supporters and raise essential funds for the charity.
