improving the outcomes for infants, children and young people who need us most. Children’s Hearings Tribunal
Members play a vital role in Scotland’s society. They listen and make legal decisions for infants, children and
young people. They ensure that the young person is at the heart of every decision taken – because every
decision, no matter how big or small, has an impact.
As Quality Coordinator, working with a small new team of Quality Partners and reporting directly to the Quality
Manager, you will play a key administrative and support role. You will contribute to the planning, coordination
and reporting within Children’s Hearings Scotland’s (CHS) Quality Strategy and Programme of work.
This is an exciting opportunity to play an essential role within the development of team processes and operational
systems. You will support the team objectives to ensure that CHS are delivering effective and high-quality
tribunals across Scotland through a range of activities to monitor standards, improve learning and drive
continuous improvement.
Providing high quality and varied professional and administrative assistance, you will manage a diverse range of
tasks, including helping set up team recording systems for data and evidence and establishing new quality
monitoring and reporting mechanisms. You will also support the coordination and planning across a range of
project and engagement activities with a range of stakeholders across the national team, regional areas and our
volunteer community.
Based in the Positive Outcomes Directorate, the Quality Coordinator will assist close liaison with CHS colleagues
across Learning, Participation, Practice and Standards and Complaints. The role holder will support
collaborative working to ensure effective processes to share relevant learning, information and feedback when
there are crosscutting and shared aspects of work.

Your Role
Supporting the development and implementation of data and evidence collection, storage, and reporting systems, you
will play a key role in ensuring that accurate and reliable information is readily available to inform
decision-making and drive improvements. You will assist the Quality Team in a variety of stakeholder engagement
activities, providing coordination and delivery support to ensure that projects run smoothly and achieve their
objectives.
You will contribute to the growth of the team and the delivery of the Quality Strategy and its implementation plan,
working collaboratively across CHS to align efforts and foster a culture of quality improvement. By building
effective relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders, you will demonstrate CHS’s collaborative
approach to quality and support the continuous improvement of services.
Additionally, you will ensure systems are in place to record, analyse, and share learning from quality and
improvement activities. This will involve facilitating feedback loops that highlight both successes and areas
for improvement, enabling the organisation to make informed decisions and enhance practice. Your efforts will
contribute to creating a culture of learning and quality that drives the delivery of better services for
children and young people.
Life at CHS
Our 2,500 volunteer Panel Members take part in children’s hearings in their local areas, making decisions with and
for infants, children and young people. Our organisation also supports a network of 22 Area Support Teams made
up of 400 volunteers who support Panel Members in their local communities.
