Waverley Care is looking for a new Fundraising Manager specializing in individual giving and legacies, with a secondary focus on philanthropic giving.

The organisation has been at the forefront of providing care for those impacted by HIV and AIDS since 1989. Waverley Care now approaches a seminal moment as they close in on Scotland being one of the first countries in the world to get new HIV transmission down to zero by 2030.

To ensure they can meet the ambition, growth and expansion the charity sees in its future, the fundraising team has been invested in, including creating this new role. The fundraising team is in a good place and just needs the right person to join the charity to provide the remaining missing puzzle piece.

The successful candidate for the role of Fundraising Manager for Individual Giving, Legacies and Major Donors will be someone who has previously held responsibility for delivering individual giving campaigns and is looking to broaden their remit to include other income streams and line management. You will be skilled in providing an excellent supporter journey, and able to apply the fundamentals of gold standard stewardship to other income streams such as with major donors.

The role would suit someone who is excited by potential and is ambitious. Who can lead an individual giving campaign and be a credible expert for IG within Waverley Care. It is likely that the successful candidate will have been operating at a senior fundraiser level or perhaps as a sole fundraiser for a smaller charity, and is looking to take on a team of their own.

This role is hybrid based, with some presence expected at Waverley Care head office for meetings and to build relationships across the wider team.

To support our PBS strategy, we now have an exciting opportunity to join Ark’s newly established Practice Development Team as a Care & Support Practice Leader. Reporting to the Practice Development Manager, Care & Support Practice Leaders will promote a learning culture and lead on embedding a coaching and mentoring practices within their area.

This is a newly established team that will have a national reach within Arks services across Scotland.

You will play a key role in staff and managers’ development through building knowledge, capacity, and resilience within their teams. This role will mainly be based out in our services allowing you to support with identifying potential areas for improvement and work with managers and teams to find appropriate solutions while maintaining consistency of care for our supported people. You will be innovative and committed to continuous improvement, actively engaging in proactive reflective practice and feedback in your work activity. You will ensure that all developments are based on evidence and best practice.

There will be a focus on the implementation of our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Strategy within this role. You will ensure PBS personal planning processes are carried out and based on appropriate assessments and understanding of behaviours, risk assessments and developed with the supported person, family, and other professionals.

As this is a new role for Ark there will be a real emphasis on ensuring that we review, adapt, and improve our processes regularly to ensure that Practice Leaders are providing the right support to managers, team members and supported people.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience of working with people who have a wide range of support needs and personal outcomes in a person-centred way in social care.
• Experience of working with people who have experienced trauma and may have been marginalised and with people with behaviours of concern, supporting them to better quality of life outcomes and access wider opportunities.
• Experience of taking a lead role within a team.
• Demonstratable experience of applying evidence and knowledge to decision making processes.
• Strong report writing skills.
• Demonstratable experience that shows the ability to coach and mentor others and successfully transferring embedded knowledge to others.
• Excellent interpersonal skills in order to communicate well with supported people and colleagues at all levels.
• Be able to demonstrate an accomplished level of skill used when directly supporting people.
• Willingness to travel to Arks Services throughout Scotland.

Midlothian and Scottish Borders Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Services

We are offering a leadership opportunity for a Senior Services Manager to lead and develop our team delivering community mental health and wellbeing services within Midlothian and the Scottish Borders.

This opportunity requires excellent leadership and management skills, where the successful candidate will be required to provide leadership and management for team leaders and their teams, establish new services and build networks with our partners across mental health services in Midlothian and the Scottish Borders.

You will be key to maintaining quality within service delivery. You should have experience of leading, managing and developing services, supporting and enabling teams, and of working with people with mental health problems. You should also have experience of developing systems and processes and be able to share your learning experiences across teams.
