We are seeking a motivated, self-starting Fundraising and Marketing Development Officer who is passionate about supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges and emotional distress issues in Perth and Kinross. With excellent communication skills, you will work closely with the CEO, Senior Team, and colleagues to apply for and secure both restricted and unrestricted funds from trusts, foundations, grant-making bodies, and through other income-generating activities.

Using your creativity, you will also be responsible for raising awareness of Mindspace’s services through events, presentations, marketing materials, and managing social media and website content. We’re looking for a versatile individual who communicates effectively at all levels, writes clearly, collaborates well with others, and can work independently when needed.

Role Overview:

As the Manager of CILPK, you will be the key advocate for disabled individuals in Perth and Kinross, facilitating their voices in discussions on disability access, equality, and independent living. You will empower our members to influence their environment and support them in shaping inclusive policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide business support and report performance to members, trustees, and relevant bodies.
• Fundraise beyond existing funding sources.
• Manage organisational premises and liaise with landlords and utility companies.
• Oversee volunteers and staff, ensuring effective operations.
• Maintain communication with regulatory bodies like OSCR and Companies House.
• Support trustees in organisational governance.
• Act as the primary liaison between CILPK and local services, businesses, and communities.
• Represent CILPK in local and national forums, advocating for disabled voices.
• Facilitate disability awareness training for organisations.
• Lead campaigns promoting the rights of disabled individuals in the community.
• Coordinate responses to equality issues and engage with local consultations.
• Continue existing projects such as the Keep Safe Scheme and digital inclusion initiatives.

We are looking for a Community Activities Organiser who will be responsible for developing and facilitating a wide range of community activities for people living with dementia and their carers/families with a view to helping them to maintain social activities, relationships and community connections.

The successful applicant will have a positive approach to dementia. You will be flexible, inclusive, creative, and organised in your approach. You will be sensitive and compassionate with the ability to support people in times of difficulty or distress. You will be an excellent communicator who can work effectively both with individuals and with groups. You will have a positive approach to your own continued professional development and a willingness to participate in relevant training. A relevant qualification and previous experience of working with people with dementia would be an advantage.

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to work within Alzheimer Scotland as a Centre Manager in Perth. on a permanent basis.

The Centre Manager will lead and manage a team providing Alzheimer Scotland’s programme of support for people concerned about their brain health or affected by dementia. The Centre Manager will be key to the successful delivery of Alzheimer Scotland’s vision to develop a programme of brain health and dementia support at identified centres across Scotland. Alzheimer Scotland is named after Alois (A-lo-ish) Alzheimer who first identified the brain disease we now recognise as the leading cause of dementia. By building a range of engaging and supportive services in the heart of their community, the Centre Manager will ensure that people have access to:

• Advice - our expert advisors can offer one-to-one help with anything from building cognitive resilience, to managing money matters and legal issues.
• Listening - we offer places to be heard, whatever the question or concern, whenever help is needed.
• Opportunities - to connect, learn and share with others in a similar situation.
• Information - on all stages of the brain health journey, whether someone is worried about their brain health or living and caring well with dementia.
• Support - everyone is welcome in our Centres, where those affected by dementia can feel safe with trusted staff who understand what they’re going through.

We are looking for a dynamic person who will support and deliver the ALOIS programme, embedding it within their daily practice and work alongside the Centres Lead to bring the programme to life.

Working with individuals and families, Centre Managers are required to have a warm, flexible approach, as well as skills in empathy and relationship building. We are looking for someone who has strong networking skills and experience of collaborating and developing partnerships both internally and externally.

Line management responsibilities for staff within the Centre is an expected part of the role, including development and supporting a network of volunteers.

Applicants will have an understanding of the aims and values of Alzheimer Scotland supported by excellent communication skills; hold a recognised professional qualification and/or have relevant experience with a willingness to learn and participate in training. Relevant qualifications and/or experience of working with people with dementia would be an advantage.
