Home in Scotland is looking for new members to join our Board to contribute to the strategic direction to help with our mission to deliver high quality affordable housing in Scotland.
Home in Scotland is part of part of the Home Group, one of the UK’s largest providers of high-quality housing, integrated health and social care. In Scotland we manage over 5500 homes serving 12,500 customers.
As a member of our Home in Scotland Board, you’ll support, offer guidance and constructive challenge, ensuring our Board discharges its legal and regulatory responsibilities.
Your key responsibilities
- Set clear strategic direction and priorities for Home in Scotland.
- Monitor and review Home in Scotland’s progress and performance in accordance with our strategy and business plan.
- Contribute your personal and professional knowledge and expertise to Board discussions and decisions, ensuring that high standards of customer service are maintained.
- Promote and uphold the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring the Board discharges its duties and complies with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure appropriate controls and risk management are in place.
- Maintain high standards of honesty and integrity, adhering at all times to our Board Members Code of Conduct.
You bring
- Knowledge or experience of social housing in Scotland, including its regulatory and policy environment.
- A strong sense of social purpose and empathy with Home Group’s mission, along with a passion for housing and communities, making a difference for our customers.
- Proven ability to work at a strategic level, think creatively, and challenge constructively.
- An understanding of the role of a Board Member, commitment to the highest standards of corporate governance, and the ability to build constructive working relationships with Board Members and colleagues.
- A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Excellent communication and networking skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively and represent Home Scotland externally.

What’s involved
- You ask you to commit 1-2 days per month to Home in Scotland Board meetings and activities.
- As a Board we meet 5-6 times per year, both virtual and in-person. Some meetings include site visits and engagement with our customers.
- The initial term of your appointment is for three years and may be renewed.
- The role is unpaid, however all reasonable expenses are reimbursed.

Join The Hidden Gardens Trust!
Would you like the opportunity to develop Scotland’s First Sanctuary Gardens dedicated to Peace; a greenspace that supports biodiversity and community?
We’re looking for people to help us shape the next five years as a community-led resource. The Gardens are located in South Glasgow and whilst most board members are from Glasgow, some provide specialist skills or knowledge but live out with the city.
The board meets at least 5 times per year and also get involved in subgroups or steering groups around specific themes. We are looking for 4 or 5 new people to join.
Do you have an interest in the supply and provision of new homes, supporting communities, charity finance or charity governance? Do you want the opportunity to set strategy, improve your leadership skills, and make a difference to local communities? If you do, we would be very interested in hearing from you.
The Association owns and rents over 2,000 social rented homes in the Angus and Dundee area. We are a registered Charity regulated by both OSCR and the Scottish Housing Regulator and have a staff team of around 50.
Our Board of Management members are all volunteers and we value their time and commitment to deliver our aims. You will be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses.
Who we're looking for:
We welcome applications from those with a diverse range of backgrounds and experience and we are particularly interested in people with the following skills. There is no requirement to have had any previous Board experience. What is important is that you have the drive and passion to make a difference and that you are prepared to contribute to discussions that enable positive and collective decision making. We would be interested applicants with experience or an interest in:
- construction, design and the built environment/asset management
- renewable technologies/net zero
- human resources and people management
Successful applicants will receive effective induction and will be supported to learn new skills. The Board meetings are usually held on Wednesday mornings. Our full Board of Management meets 6 times a year. We have 4 sub committees that meet quarterly for Finance, Audit & Risk, Service Delivery, Development and Remuneration. Typically, Board
members are on one of the sub committees making the commitment 10 meetings a year. Meetings are normally held in person in Arbroath however we can offer participation using Teams for members who cannot attend in person.

UHI Perth is currently recruiting for new Independent Board Members to join the governing body charged with overseeing the operation of the College.
UHI Perth is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a partner in the University of the Highlands and Islands.
Independent Board Members are a governing body charged with overseeing the operation of the College. A position on our Board requires commitment to the work of the College and the community, an interest in the post-16 education sector, and effective communication and analytical skills.
UHI Perth (in common with many colleges across the sector) is currently facing some challenges around financial sustainability, and as part of the process of addressing these challenges, we are undertaking some fundamental changes to our governance and operations. With such change comes opportunity, and as such we currently have vacancies for Independent Board Members with the right skills and experience.
Membership is voluntary and unpaid, but brings huge rewards to members - input can make a real difference to the education and prospects of our learners and to the wellbeing and success of the communities where they live.
Attendance at meetings of the Board and Committees is required, usually early evening, and reasonable travel costs for Board business are reimbursed.

About Revive MS Support
Revive MS Support is the only charity in the West of Scotland providing nationwide support for people who are affected by MS. The charity was set up in 1984 by people living with MS and their families, and helps people manage the physical, emotional, financial, and social impacts that come with a diagnosis of MS.
Services include an MS Specialist Nurse; MS Specialist Physiotherapy; Welfare & Benefit support; Speech and Language Therapy; Counselling; Aromatherapy & Reflexology; Advocacy, Podiatry; Exercise classes; extensive group provision including Fatigue Management, Memory Matters, and other self-management groups; Continence Nurse service; Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy; and support for carers, families and friends; an extensive social programme and a Café hub.
We’re passionate that Revive is about people, and not just about MS. We can’t change someone’s diagnosis, but we can meet them on their journey and help them take control of their condition, maximise their mental and physical health and well-being, and help them work towards their goals. No-one should have to manage MS alone, so we’re here to provide evidence-based support, expertly delivered, to mitigate the often-devastating impacts that come with a diagnosis of MS and, where possible, change the dynamic and outcomes of living with MS for those affected.

- Overseeing the financial stability of the organisation.

- Upholding the reputation and values of Revive MS Support.
- Ensuring effective administration, including strong policies and procedures.
- Offering your skills, expertise, and insights to drive informed decision-making.
Person Specification
