We are looking for two part-time Youth Workers with an interest in drama to join our ‘GIVIT some STREET’ Team. The service is funded by the South Lanarkshire ADP to support young people who are either at risk due to their own alcohol and substance use or are affected by a family member's substance use.

You will either work with our Junior Group (11-13yrs) on Tuesday and Wednesdays or Senior Group (14-20yrs) on Monday and Thursdays from late afternoon till evening.

You will provide practical and emotional support to participants through one-on-one and group activities. Collaborating with the Project Navigator, you will contribute to the youth work interventions programme, particularly focusing on drama activities to motivate individuals to explore their issues, enhance understanding, reduce harm and raise awareness.

These activities will serve as diversion, distraction and respite methods. Additionally, you will manage a small caseload of participants.

We will use a blend of Youth Work Interventions, Harm Reduction, Promenade Theatre and facilitated workshops to provide a consequential learning experience on issues that affect young people today.

Young people will be referred to the services from a variety of partners and can also make self-referrals.

Your responsibilities will also include development of the set and co-ordination of all live performances. We need someone special who can help take the project to the next level.

Driving Licence and access to a car is desirable.
