Wester Loch Ewe Trust (WLET) was formed to benefit the community of Wester Loch Ewe

specifically to

• manage community land and associated assets for the benefit of the Community and the public in general; to
• advance community development, including rural regeneration within the Community;
• advance education for all ages in the Community, and the public at large, with the object of improving the conditions of life of the Community;
• provide, or assist in providing, facilities and/or activities for those in need in the Community by reason of age, isolation, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage;
• to provide, or assist in providing, facilities and/or activities, for recreation and for the advancement of the arts, culture, history and heritage to be available to members of the Community and the public at large, with the object of improving the conditions of life of the Community;
• to advance conservation and preservation of the natural environment, and of buildings and sites of architectural, historic, cultural or other importance to the Community.

WLET’s voluntary Board of Trustees seeks to appoint a committed and capable individual to help make a step change in their capacity to support the local community. Providing support to the Board, acting as the point of contact with funders and stakeholders and actively progressing a range of projects, this post has transformative potential.

In addition to supporting a range of volunteer led services, the Trust is currently working on two significant projects:-

1. Phase 2 of the redevelopment of The Old School, Inverasdale

2. Poolewe development project

Candidates for the post of Development Manager are likely to have a background in charity and financial management or business development, have the ability to multi-task across a range of projects and have good experience of working in and for place-based communities. A track record in income generation, marketing and fundraising would be desirable.

The post holder will be required to explore and develop the potential for new initiatives both within and beyond existing projects. They will contribute significantly to strategic discussions and work closely with the Trustees. We are looking for a team player with great ideas, a practical hands-on approach and strengths in communicating and building relationships.

This post is funded by Foundation Scotland through the Recovery and Resilience Programme and administered by DTAS (Development Trusts Association Scotland).

Contract: The post is currently fixed term for 2 years.

The post holder will be an employee of WLET with 5 weeks annual leave and pension contributions will be paid. There is potential for the post to become permanent, subject to the success of the post holder in securing recurring core funding.

Start date: The successful candidate should ideally be able to start work in February 2026.

Location: While aspects of the role may be deliverable remotely, we are seeking a candidate who is able to live in or near to Inverasdale and be present at The Old School when necessary. The establishment of strong community relationships will be important.

About Us

Recyke-a-bike (part of Fallin Community Enterprises) has been in operation since 2005. We began as a small recycling social enterprise that quickly grew into a job club, using bike recycling as work experience for our members. Over the years we’ve seen a lot of growth and now offer training services and cycling outreach work, in addition to our bike recycling and sales through our well stocked and modestly priced shop.

Purpose

To support the delivery of the Bikeability programme in partnership with Cycling Scotland and Stirling and Clackmannanshire local authorities. The Outreach Worker and Cycle Trainer will also support the delivery of all cycling-based activities delivered by Recyke-a-bike.

Responsibilities

Main:

• Delivery of Bikeability Training to Children.
• Delivery of Adult Cycle Training.
• Maintenance of bikes and equipment for each of the following fleets: Stirling, Clackmannanshire, EBike, Practical Cycle Awareness Training (PCAT) and Adult Cycle Training Fleets.
• Managing health and safety within area of responsibility.
• Carrying out risk assessments for Bikeability sessions.
• Planning, risk assessing and delivering other cycle related sessions, events and activities.
• External liason with third parties including schools, local councils, community groups and organisations, as well as charities and businesses.
• Attending team meetings.
• Attending continuous professional development (CPD) training.

Additional:

• Building bikes for the shop when not busy.
• Collecting bike donations for the shop.
• Deliver Doctor Bike services across the Forth Valley when required.
• Assisting other departments where needed.
• Any other reasonable duties consistent with working for a small charitable organisation.

The Role of Activity Centre Manager:

Reporting to the senior management team, the Activity Centre Manager will have overall responsibility for the operational management, development, and day-to-day leadership of the centre, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and commercially successful activities.

You will oversee all aspects of centre operations, including activity delivery, staffing, facilities, equipment, and logistics, while ensuring every guest experience meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer service. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of instructors and operational staff, creating a positive, professional, and safety-led culture, supporting their training, development, and performance.

This is a hands-on, dynamic role where operational excellence, proactive problem-solving, and strong organisational skills are critical. You will ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, licensing, and safeguarding requirements, maintaining robust systems for risk assessment, incident management, and emergency planning. You will also work closely with the senior management team to achieve business targets, optimise income, and support the ongoing development of the site, facilities, and equipment.

You will bring strong operational and people-management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff while ensuring high standards of performance, safety, and customer experience. Excellent organisational, financial, and administrative skills are essential, alongside the ability to manage complex, competing priorities. You will have strong interpersonal skills, with experience building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be flexible, resilient, and willing to work hands-on, including outdoors in all weather conditions and during peak periods, including weekends. You will hold a full UK driving licence, relevant first aid qualifications (or willingness to obtain), and appropriate industry certifications. We do this by creating and supporting a network of community food gardens where people can learn to grow food sustainably, build skills, connect with others and improve their physical and mental health. Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, and our gardens provide welcoming, inclusive green spaces that bring communities together.

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate, organised and community-minded Green Spaces Officer to support volunteers across our network of community gardens. This role will help people to take part in outdoor activities that improve wellbeing, increase confidence, and strengthen social connection.

Working closely with Garden Leaders and volunteer teams, the Green Spaces Officer will help ensure our gardens are safe, welcoming, inclusive environments where everyone can participate—particularly individuals facing disadvantage, isolation, or poor mental health.

This is a highly rewarding role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, supporting people, and helping communities to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Support volunteers to participate in garden sessions in inclusive, safe, positive ways
• Provide 1:1 support where needed, helping individuals to build confidence and skills
• Organise small group activities such as nature walks, seasonal tasks, wellbeing sessions, and gentle gardening
• Work with staff and volunteers to ensure gardens remain welcoming, accessible community spaces
• Help volunteers to set goals, reflect on progress, and engage fully in community life
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and volunteer feedback
• Support the development of wellbeing-focused initiatives within garden settings
• Liaise with referring partners (e.g. mental health teams, housing associations, support workers)
