Role:
The Wellbeing Services Manager will manage GCA’s Wellbeing Services which include GCA’s Women’s Service and Building Positive Pathways Service. GCA’s Women’s Service is a service designed to support survivors of gender based violence. This is done through a combination of groupwork and 1-1 support. Building Positive Pathways is a service designed to support survivors of childhood trauma. Building Positive Pathways offers groupwork throughout the week, both structured and unstructured, and 1-1 support.
The post holder will support the Head of Community Services to manage and co-ordinate a high-quality service within GCA, whilst ensuring staff, volunteers and students receive appropriate supervision, support, and guidance. The service will be provided from North Claremont Street Office and within community settings.

Supported and guided by the Service Manager, you will also take on a senior role in guiding and supervising volunteers within the facility.
The Role
- Provide leadership and guidance to volunteers to ensure effective delivery of services.
- Collaborate with the Service Manager and colleagues to develop and refine the Therapeutic Community program tailored to the needs of our service user
- Oversee the implementation of the Therapeutic Community program, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the program, making adjustments as necessary to optimize outcomes for service users.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the overall service in Aberdeen, working closely with the Service Manager and other team members.
About You

The Service
Due to new funding from the Scottish Government, this brand new service will be based in Aberdeen City centre and is currently being procured. This community based service will be framed around our Residential Therapeutic Community model, providing a structured day service. This flexible service will run a structured group work programme in addition to 1 to 1 support, including a range of meaningful activities to build recovery capital. Ran by a small team of 3 staff with support from volunteers and peer mentors. You will also work closely and collaborate with our new Residential service based in Alford and the new Housing team also based in Aberdeen city centre.

You'll be supported by a charitable organisation with extensive experience in launching and managing top-tier registered care services.
Aligned with our vision of empowering individuals impacted by substance use and associated needs, we're collaborating with national and local partners to deliver safe and effective residential care services. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that every individual we support receives the highest quality of care and guidance.
Your role in our therapeutic community will be key. You will manage a caseload, assess the people who use our service and manage their recovery/care plans. It will mean developing and applying a range of therapeutic approaches to meet their individual needs, whether that’s employment, education, health etc. You’ll be the one who sees that everything is coordinated from the moment they’re referred to us to the time that they move home.
As a Therapeutic Worker, you will support individuals accessing the residential rehabilitation programme to achieve outcomes that help create long-term recovery. Using the Therapeutic Community “community as method” model you will empower individuals, families and communities to be confident about recovery.
You will support the day to day running of the therapeutic community, ensuring residents’ needs are met and the best possible care is provided in an environment that promotes a culture of recovery. Whilst also being confident to deliver therapeutic groups, activities, and specialist interventions in accordance with the TC manual and the needs of the service.
Previous experience is desirable, however not essential. Therapeutic Workers come from many different backgrounds and experiences, and you may have the skills required. We are seeking dedicated individuals, based on your values, willingness to learn new skills and the compassion to deliver the best service possible to our residents.
This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week. You will be expected to work a rolling rota which includes evening and weekend working.

Previous experience is desirable, however not essential. Night Care Workers come from many different backgrounds and experiences, and you may have the skills required. We are seeking dedicated individuals, based on your values, willingness to learn new skills and the compassion to deliver the best service possible to our residents.
This is a part-time role of 26 hours per week on average. You will be expected to work a rolling rota which includes 10hrs shifts including weekends.
