Fife Women’s Aid are looking for a full-time member of staff to join our existing MARAC team, working with women experiencing domestic abuse who are at high levels of risk.

If you want to help make a difference in the lives of women, children and young people with experience of domestic abuse, have direct experience of providing one to one person-centred support, an understanding of the causes and impacts of domestic abuse along with good interpersonal skills then you may be the person we are looking for. Applicants will have at least 2 years’ experience of working in a support or advocacy role. The MARAC team is a small supportive team with a wealth of experience to share with new workers. Training will also be provided for the successful candidates.

The successful applicant(s) will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in social care or other relevant subject, or equivalent experience and willingness to work towards a qualification.

Lanarkshire Rape Crisis Centre (LRCC); established in 2004, is an independent charity with the objective of relieving the distress and improving the welfare of women and girls who, at any time in their lives, have been subjected to any form of sexual violence. LRCC works collaboratively with 17 Rape Crisis Centres across Scotland who also adhere to National Service Standards.

The National Lottery Community Fund, Improving Lives- Young Persons Project 2025-2027: Lanarkshire Rape Crisis Centre (LRCC) has been awarded funding for a 3-year period for a Young Survivors Project. The funding will provide a dedicated Young Survivors Support Service and lead to the creation of a Young People Reference Group. The Support Service will offer a range of individual and peer support options to aid in the recovery from any form of sexual violence or abuse. The Reference Group will be a space for young people to come together in solidarity, have their voices championed and amplified and be a key part of the prevention landscape tackling gender-based violence. The funding means we are recruiting 2 new staff to lead on the development and delivery of the project and work collaboratively within our existing staff teams to deliver the project outcomes.

Purpose of Job

To deliver specialist therapeutic support and information services to young survivors age 12yrs+ affected by sexual violence, at our main premises, at outreach locations across Lanarkshire and via virtual methods.

Scottish Women’s Aid has an exciting opportunity to join their communications team. This is an influential and dynamic position, reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Communications Lead shares responsibility for leading SWA’s communications work, campaigning, messaging, and delivering a media strategy in line with our strategic objectives.

Working collaboratively across Policy, Fundraising, member, and training teams at SWA you will co-develop and deliver a communications strategy, identifying the best ways to lever change through media campaigns around key issues for women, children, and young people experiencing domestic abuse. You will shape a wide variety of materials and outputs that support SWA’s broader advocacy and campaigning aims. You will devise engaging communications approaches and craft compelling content. This will include media responses, PR, press releases, and briefing notes as well as articles for a range of audiences comprising our network, partners, stakeholders, the media, government, and wider civil society. You will also co-curate our online presence, creating engaging content across a range of platforms, and be adept at analysing engagement metrics and evaluating impact.

Glasgow Women’s Aid provides information, support and temporary accommodation for women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse. We have refuge accommodation, follow on services and outreach services both for women and children across Glasgow.

Are you passionate about children and children’s rights? Do you enjoy working with children and do you have experience of working with children who have experienced trauma? We are looking for a CYP Outreach and Prevention Worker to join our team and provide vital support to children dealing with the trauma of domestic abuse. Our service is delivered to school age children, predominantly in a school environment. You will provide therapeutic 1-1 and focused group work to children and young people ensuring the service is driven by them and their needs. You will also deliver our unique prevention programme to schools across Glasgow to educate children and young people about domestic abuse in an age appropriate way.

It is essential that you have experience of supporting children and young people who have experienced gender based violence. A qualification relevant to working with children and young people, such as SVQ Level 3 Social Service (Children and Young People) is also required. The nature of our work requires a commitment to the feminist analysis of domestic abuse and to the values of Glasgow Women’s Aid. Due to the nature of the role it is essential that you have a driving license and access to a car.
