Energy Advisor

  • + 3% contribution to pension scheme (prorata). 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, including the occasional Saturday & evening work. Contract: 2-years (after completion of 3-month probation).
  • Holidays: 32 days, inclusive of public holidays, per annum pro rata

Role

StAndEN are a partner in the award-winning Cosy Kingdom project, which delivers energy & fuel poverty advice services for householders in North East Fife & Glenrothes, making home energy visits, providing talks and workshops on saving energy and attending events to raise the profile of the project.

This exciting new post will be part-funded by Fife Council and Local Energy Advice Partnership (LEAP). The successful post holder will be working across North East Fife and Glenrothes, delivering energy advice via home visits and telephone calls, providing outreach events, running multiple targeted social media campaigns, engaging with local

community stakeholders and installing simple energy-saving measures.

This new part-funded post will require time split between two projects- 3-days per week working in Glenrothes and 2-days per week delivering energy advice at home visits across the region.

Full training will be provided, including City and Guilds qualifications.

Specific responsibilities

  • To carry out home energy audits, offering one-to-one tailored advice, support and information to householders
  • Provide telephone appointments, home visits, and outreach events in the Glenrothes area
  • To work as a dedicated LEAP Advisor 2 days a week, delivering at least 6 home visits per week
  • Install simple energy-saving measures in client homes to help them save energy and reduce their carbon footprint
  • To deliver events, workshops and talks for community groups & to the wider public
  • Attend local events (within North East Fife & Glenrothes) to promote the project and wider charity objectives
  • To develop, deploy and manage six targeted social media campaigns
  • To work with the StAndEN team to develop activities and resources to raise awareness of home energy use, and to change attitudes and behaviours
  • To engage a wide range of people with the project
  • To assist in the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems
  • To assist with the completion of project reporting
  • To develop a network of contacts, including local community groups, for the project to work with

The role will involve regular travel across North East Fife and Glenrothes, so any candidate must have a full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle

  • To attend and contribute to team meetings
  • To undertake other duties in line with the job purpose and wider charity activities

Responsible to:Senior Energy Advisor

Place of work:The Eco Hub, St Andrews; community locations; client homes throughout North East Fife and Glenrothes; hybrid home working, depending on role.
