Scottish Christian Alliance (SCA) are seeking talented, knowledgeable and passionate people to work alongside the current team in delivering sector leading care to men currently experiencing homelessness in Glasgow.
The ARCH Resettlement Centre has been designed specifically to cover all aspects of the journey from homelessness to a permanent home and as a support worker you will be part of that exciting journey with an organisation possessing an excellent track record in providing safe, secure, supported accommodation.
Your role will be to provide practical and emotional support, encouraging vulnerable men to achieve their own personal outcomes and goals in all areas of their lives.
If successful, you will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of your start date. After registration, there is a requirement to be qualified and to maintain professional learning, which we will support you to achieve.

The successful candidate(s) will have a SVQ3 in Health and Social Care (or similar) and will provide housing support to men dealing with multiple issue, one of them homelessness, in the project and/or in the local community. The post holder will be part of a dedicated team that will ensure that the highest quality of service is provided.
There are two posts available: 1 x full-time support worker and 1 x sessional worker. The position requires the candidate to work a 4 week shift pattern consisting of day shift, late nights and weekend work. This will be expanded on at interview. There will be an element of lone working, out of hours on call and occasional overnight sleepover.
A successful candidate will be empathetic towards homelessness, mental health and addiction issues. They will also have good communication skills, time keeping skills and a “can do attitude.
