About the role

This is a new and exciting opportunity to work with Sustrans as the Resource Planning Manager. The purpose of the role is to ensure that the allocation of resources across Sustrans in England, Wales and Northern Ireland maximises our impact.

Sustrans’ portfolio comprises a wide range of behaviour change, infrastructure and internal projects, varying in value, complexity and reporting requirements.

As the Resource Planning Manager, you will be responsible for assigning resources to significant projects across the Charity, ensuring internally and externally funded initiatives have the right people, money and services at the right time.

Duties of the role will include embedding the Enterprise Resource Planner (ERP) across Sustrans, evolving processes and procedures to ensure the effective sharing of resources, allocation of resources during the planning phase of a project and supporting project managers as they respond to risks and opportunities within the project life cycle.

You will build and manage internal relationships with team leaders and project managers across Sustrans.

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

About you

You should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (ERP) as well as experience in a similar role.

You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to make effective resource decisions, excellent communication skills and the ability to be flexible and confident to change decisions surrounding allocations.

We ask you to demonstrate your knowledge of resource management best practice and project management tools and practices, as well as your knowledge of finance and budgeting. We also require you to have knowledge of Microsoft Progressus ERP.
