With over 30 years of success both in the UK and internationally, Plantlife is Europe’s largest dedicated wild plant and fungi conservation charity. Our financial stability and recent growth in supporters enables us to play an increasingly important part in saving nature and enabling wild plants and fungi to thrive and we are now at an important crossroads. Demand for our expertise has never been greater. Neither has the demand for focussed action to save nature, encourage plant life back into our cities and stitch back the living fabric of the British countryside.
We are currently looking to appoint a Treasurer and two Trustees to join our very active Board of Trustees to oversee the continued growth and development of Plantlife.
We are keen to hear from a diverse range of applicants from all ages and backgrounds who are passionate about our ambitions and who would relish the chance to offer strategic leadership, working closely with fellow trustees and the senior management team. While we encourage and welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, we are keen to hear from candidates with a background in plant and fungi conservation, agriculture and networking/partnership building as a force for good. For the role of Treasurer we would particularly welcome applicants that have experience of charity financial management and are chartered in a suitable accountancy field.
The expected time commitment is 8-12 days annually.

Vice Convener – Ramblers Scotland Strategic Committee
About the Role
As Vice Convener of the Ramblers Scotland Strategic Committee (RSSC), you’ll play a key role in supporting the Convener and contributing to the strategic direction of our work. The committee oversees our activities in Scotland, helping to ensure that walking is accessible, enjoyable, and open to all.
This is a strategic and advisory role — there is no operational decision-making responsibility. You’ll collaborate closely with fellow volunteers and staff to help shape our campaigns, policies, and priorities, aligning your leadership with the organisation’s refreshed strategy — which emphasises removing barriers to walking, improving access for under-represented communities, and safeguarding natural spaces.
This volunteer role also provides an excellent career development opportunity — offering experience in governance, strategic planning, and leadership within a national charity.
This is a national volunteer role that involves quarterly in-person meetings, with occasional ad hoc sub-committee meetings (often online). While the role is unpaid, reasonable expenses (e.g. travel and subsistence) will be reimbursed.

This national volunteer role involves quarterly in-person committee meetings and occasional ad hoc or informal sub-committee meetings (often held online). You will also represent Ramblers Scotland as a full member of the Ramblers GB Board of Trustees.

The RSSC plays a key role in overseeing our work, helping to shape strategic direction, guide campaigns, and ensure that walking remains open, accessible, and enjoyable for all.
As an Ordinary Member, you will:

- Work collaboratively with fellow committee members and staff
- Provide insight and advice on key issues related to our mission
- Support our campaigning, policy, and governance work where relevant

Circular Economy Policy Officer

Circular Communities Scotland is a network membership organisation, dedicated to supporting the establishment of a thriving circular economy in Scotland. We support and represent repair, reuse and recycling charities and social enterprises across the country. Our members prevent valuable products and materials from entering landfill, create local jobs, economic opportunities, and help promote and create social and environmental justice in their communities.
This is a new role for the organisation and the Circular Economy Policy Officer will be responsible for:
- Developing and overseeing Circular Communities Scotland’s core circular economy policy positions.
- Promoting our reuse manifesto in the run up to the Scottish Elections in May 2026 including running a hustings style event.
- Running a post-election campaign targeting Members of Scottish Parliament (MSPs), our membership and wider stakeholder organisations.
- Working with Scottish Government to see key policy asks enacted.
- Working with our membership to involve them in our policy work.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a strong candidate who has a minimum of two years’ experience in a policy formation or campaigning role at a national level. The candidate will be able to quickly get up to speed with our circular economy policy positions and indeed develop these positions further. An ability to network and build relationships with civil servants and elected representatives is also important.
We require a dynamic and proactive individual who will be capable of planning, launching and sustaining a policy campaign to support our Reuse Manifesto. We are expecting candidates to have strong communication and interpersonal skills along with a proven track record in managing multiple delivery workstreams.
