Role

Are you committed and passionate about the rights of children?

Are you a good communicator with good organisational skills and a flexible approach to new challenges?

The Safeguarders Panel Team at Children 1st is established as an integral feature of the Children’s Hearing landscape, contracted by the Scottish Government until at least June 2024 (potentially into a new contract) to manage the national Safeguarders Panel.

We are looking for a relational, child-centred, and resilient administrator to join our team. The Safeguarders Panel Team (SPT) recruit, support, provide learning opportunities and monitor Safeguarders practice. We collaborate with partner agencies and deliver all other operational tasks associated with Safeguarder appointments.

You will contribute to the team by providing a broad range of administrative support functions to the Safeguarders Panel Team, to help ensure that our processes run effectively and efficiently, and in the best interests of the child.

Relationships are at the heart of everything that we do, and the Administrative Support Assistant will have regular contact with others within the team, as well as with key partners within the Children’s Hearing System and other relevant professionals. This role will require good organisational and communication skills, and the ability to adopt a flexible approach in response to new challenges.

We need someone who is committed and passionate about the rights of children, and who shares our values and vision. We are looking for someone who is a real people’s person and has the intuition and drive to deliver on our ambitions, to help the team to support Safeguarders in their role, and work towards the best outcomes for children and young people.

Children 1st along with partners share a determination to support the transformation of the Children’s Hearing System, working with colleagues and children and families to deliver the Promise. We are also determined that children will have their rights respected, protected and fulfilled in all areas of their lives and will have a real say in the way they are supported.
