- £17.28/hour. There are no fixed hours. Relief call handlers do not have set hours, but are bank staff, called on when the helpline needs extra capacity. This happens when staff are sick, on leave, or the helpline is particularly busy.
Role
We are looking for new staff to join our team. We are looking for candidates who have the qualities that would make them a great call handler. You might be a survivor of domestic abuse or forced marriage yourself or have other relevant experience, paid, voluntary or personal. No previous helpline experience is needed, as full training will be provided.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Empathetic and understanding to all people calling about domestic abuse and forced marriage
- Good at speaking on the phone and writing messages by email, text and webchat
- Looking for flexible working, to work around care needs, health needs or to supplement income
- Looking for shift work that can be either during office hours or outside
- Happy working from home within a confidential workspace
- Able to work with a remote but supportive team
- Precise with administration, making sure that all their records are accurate
- Committed to a feminist ethos, including anti-racist and justice-focused policies
- Able to confidently navigate IT systems, such as databases, call handling software, video conferencing and email

Women’s Support and Advocacy Worker with MARAC

Fife Women’s Aid are looking for a full-time member of staff to join our existing MARAC team, working with women experiencing domestic abuse who are at high levels of risk.
If you want to help make a difference in the lives of women, children and young people with experience of domestic abuse, have direct experience of providing one to one person-centred support, an understanding of the causes and impacts of domestic abuse along with good interpersonal skills then you may be the person we are looking for. Applicants will have at least 2 years’ experience of working in a support or advocacy role. The MARAC team is a small supportive team with a wealth of experience to share with new workers. Training will also be provided for the successful candidates.
The successful applicant(s) will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in social care or other relevant subject, or equivalent experience and willingness to work towards a qualification.

Would you like to help East Ayrshire Women’s Aid improve the lives of women, children and young people who experience domestic abuse in East Ayrshire? Do you have a willingness to learn, share your skills and work as part of a team? If the answer to these questions is yes, then you might be interested in becoming a Director of East Ayrshire Women’s Aid.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team delivering vital support to vulnerable women, children and young people in East Ayrshire. You do not need to know everything there is to know about domestic abuse, but they do need to know that you are reliable and committed to our principles and values.
The position is voluntary, but East Ayrshire Women’s Aid will provide you with training and support and pay your expenses. The Board meets at least six times a year, usually on Saturday mornings.

Perinatal & Infant Mental Health Support Officer (PIMHSO)

At Nurture the Borders, we believe every family deserves the best possible start in life. Our Perinatal & Infant Mental Health Support Service provides compassionate, tailored support to parents and infants during the perinatal period, empowering families to navigate challenges and build resilience.
We are seeking an empathetic and self-motivated Perinatal & Infant Mental Health Support Officer (PIMHSO) to join our dedicated team. This is a part-time role (negotiable between 20-25 hours per week) fixed term until 30th September 2026, with the potential to extend, subject to funding.
Purpose of the Job
- As a PIMHSO, you will provide high-quality, practical, and emotional support to parents and infants facing mental health challenges. You will also facilitate group-based programs like the Solihull Approach, collaborate with volunteers and professionals, and advocate for perinatal mental health awareness in the community.
- What You’ll Do
- Manage a caseload of families, offering 1:1 tailored support and practical guidance.
- Facilitate group workshops to promote secure parent-infant attachments and improve mental well-being.
- Support the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteer befrienders.
- Collaborate with families, professionals, and community groups to build a strong network of support.
- Adhere to safeguarding policies, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
What We’re Looking For
- We’re looking for someone with:
- A relevant qualification (SCQF Level 8 or higher) in Social Care, Health, Early Years, or Psychology, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse families.
- Experience managing a dynamic workload, working independently, and maintaining professional boundaries.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, data protection, and mental health challenges during the perinatal period.
- A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work.
