CIS seeks a Volunteer and Befriending Coordinator with experience of developing volunteer programmes and a befriending scheme within a charity setting and managing, motivating and supporting befrienders assisting isolated people.
The person needs to be organised, able to work well with others in a small team and be committed to a human rights ethos and CIS’s values.
We will guarantee an interview to anyone with lived experience of the asylum system who fulfils the essential criteria of the person specification.
This post aims to provide staff working with volunteers in our organisation with practical support with the volunteer life cycle at CIS. The successful candidate will recruit, train, coordinate and support a network of volunteers.
The role also includes managing the Befriending service offered to socially isolated people in the refugee and asylum community.
Community InfoSource has secured funding, from Henry Smith and the United Kingdom Shared Prosperity Fund for this post. The post is full time, 35 hours a week for a year, until the end of December 2024 and then subject to further funding being available.
