Role
This senior position is an opportunity for a Programmes professional to contribute to shaping an international development organisation addressing some of the most important issues of our time.
The Director of Programmes is responsible for the development, management and most of the funding of EMMS International’s programmes, and contributes to the corporate leadership of EMMS International through membership of its 4-person Leadership Team.
The post-holder shares with the CEO responsibility to maximise income from institutional donors, and shares with the CEO and other colleagues responsibility for maximising income from foundations. The post-holder may develop any other innovative, programmes-related generation of funds that may arise.
The post-holder has responsibility for shaping EMMS International’s programmatic specialisations in consultation with the CEO, based on greatest needs, and EMMS International’s track record, strategic plan, and vision of “A just world in which all people have access to good quality and dignified healthcare”.
Current specialisations are palliative care (often part of Non-Communicable Disease work), Healthcare Career Pathways (helping financially vulnerable women into college and healthcare jobs), solarising hospitals, and response to health emergencies in the areas aropund our partners. We also currently help reduce teenage pregnancies, help health facilities become more financially and environmentally sustainable, and tackle leprosy, all of which the post-holder could grow through successful proposals.
The CEO currently runs all Programmes; over time the post-holder will assume responsibility for shaping the Programmes portfolio and mainly funding it, with details to be worked out with the successful candidate and depending on workload and funding opportunities.

As a member of the senior management team, the Assistant Director (Programmes and Participation) is instrumental in leading Together’s strategic initiatives across a broad spectrum of programme development, with a significant focus on enhancing the rights and participation of babies, toddlers, and early years children. This role is pivotal in supporting the Director by managing essential areas of operational and strategic responsibility, facilitating the effective implementation of Together’s strategic priorities, and ensuring programmes are impactful and aligned with organisational goals.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Overseeing the development of Together’s programmes, leading innovative initiatives and supporting Together's Director as a spokesperson on key children’s rights matters.
- Developing and managing fundraising strategies, building and maintaining strong relationships with funders and stakeholders, and overseeing the financial management of all programmes and participation budgets.
- Enhancing children’s participation initiatives and implementing participatory practices across all programme activities.
- Management and mentoring of the Programmes and Participation team, encouraging a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
Throughout the role, the post-holder will be expected to involve Together’s membership – including children and young people – whenever possible and appropriate.

Hanover has been successfully housing and supporting people in Scotland for over 40 years. Our core purpose is to help people feel safe and secure at home so they can live full and independent lives. Part of this includes our Telecare service, which operates (through a control room environment) a seven day, 24-hour service to ensure customer safety and wellbeing.
About the Role
Hanover Scotland are excited to be recruiting for a permanent Telecare Manager to join our Telecare team.
Based within the Customer Services Directorate, reporting to the Head of Care & Support, this role can work from either our Edinburgh or Glasgow office on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate must be able to attend one of our offices as and when requested. This is a fantastic opportunity to join at a time of growth and development within the organisation.
As Telecare Manager you will:
- Manage and lead the Telecare service, ensuring this delivers value and quality for our customers.
- Set and maintain high quality standards and champion continuous development to support service growth.
- Support us to modernise our services by adopting a growth mindset, seeking new business opportunities, and actively adopting technological advances.
- Lead on the delivery of the Telecare Improvement Plan and play a strategic role in the growth of our Telecare service.
- Coach, develop, and inspire the Telecare Supervisor and Telecare (Admin) Team Leader to deliver a high-quality, consistent customer experience through the continual development of the team.
- Effectively set and manage budgets to deliver a financially viable service.
- Ensure that the service maintains Telecare Services Association (TSA) accreditation and complies with necessary statutory requirements and relevant standards.
- Run an effective contract management framework with commercial customers to deliver our contractual commitments with local authorities and other housing associations.
- Proactively collaborate with internal and external partners in a way that is fully reflective of our values and behaviours and enables the Telecare service to thrive.
About You
- Substantial people and customer services management experience, operating in either a Telecare or Customer Services Centre environment.
- Capable of delivering business objectives and delivering positive results in performance.
- Confident to act as a people leader and role model for a team, supporting our senior and operational team leaders to be confident and effective in their roles.
- Evidence of strong communication skills at a senior level and demonstrating approaches that enable and empower others.
- Significant business development, budgetary and contract management experience.
- Strong digital literacy skills and confidence to handle core ICT systems.

The Butterfly Trust is the lead agency providing social support for people affected by Cystic Fibrosis throughout Scotland. We provide a comprehensive and diverse range of outreach services for all ages of people with Cystic Fibrosis and their families across Scotland.
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and approachable individual to join our team, with an appropriate skillset to add value and who has a commitment to continued professional development. We will provide both in-house and external training to ensure all of our team develop their skills and knowledge to fulfil their role to the best of their ability.
The successful candidate will have good communication, problem-solving and organisational skills and they will be able to motivate others and work with people at all levels.
The main duties for this role include:
- To take responsibility for delivery direct one-to one support for children affected by Cystic Fibrosis, and the supervision of the volunteer befrienders providing some of this the support
- To provide direct support for children and their carers and to deal with complex issues
- To work in collaboration with specialist medical personnel to ensure provision of professional and integrated medical and social support services
- To liaise, when necessary, with Social Care Services, Local Authorities and other relevant specialist agencies
- To contribute to recruitment, selection, induction and training of volunteers who provide outreach support and ensure volunteer befrienders are skilled to respond to issues affecting people living with Cystic Fibrosis and their carers
- To maintain communication and information systems to ensure good practice and effective monitoring, maintain accurate records and provide monthly reports to the Managing Director
Full driving licence and a car is essential.
For this regulated work the successful candidate will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership which will be paid for by the Trust.
