We’re recruiting Board members

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency are now recruiting for new Board members who will be at the forefront of protecting and enhancing our natural environment.

With up to five positions available, this is a great opportunity to lead an organisation that will be at the heart of Scotland’s approach to tackling the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss, and to create a cleaner, greener and better protected environment.

Skills and experience

The Board is about to set out its new corporate direction so we’re looking for people that are strategic leaders that can help drive new corporate plans focused on modernisation and reform.

Applicants must demonstrate evidence of a least one of the specialist criteria:

  • Organisation transformation.
  • Digital.
  • Environment and regulation.
  • People and performance.
  • Audit and risk.

They must also demonstrate evidence of two essential criteria:

  1. Analysis and decision making.
  2. Communication, collaboration and influencing.

We want our Board to reflect the diversity of the modern communities we serve and value very highly the benefits of having different experience and points of view on our Board. We particularly welcome applications from women, disabled people, LGBT+ people, people from ethnic minority communities and people aged under 50.
