As our Quality and Improvement Manager, you will support our services to gather the data and evidence they need to understand both areas of strength, and of challenges, and to create development plans based on this evidence. A key focus will be leading and managing our Quality Assurance Framework. Substantially revised and relaunched in 2023 with a brand new digital resource, this approach allows our services to self-assess against our strategic priorities and core quality areas, combined with objective review by the Quality and Improvement Manager. Other key responsibilities are the oversight of our operational policies and acting as Penumbra’s Data Protection Officer.

About the Role:

The new service, part funded by the National Lottery, will provide support to those neurodiverse people who have mental health challenges. The service will be delivered across West Dunbartonshire for local residents aged 16 years and older. The successful candidates will be experienced social care practitioners who are keen to develop their skills in a new and challenging role. The work will take place in local communities across the area and will include one to one and group supports. The successful candidates will have a wide range of transferable skills including experience supporting people who experience common mental health challenges. The successful candidate will work to the SSSC Codes of Practice and the Health and Social Care Standards.

We are looking for a highly motivated and unique individual to play an essential part in leading Alzheimer Scotland’s National Support Services. The National Support Services Lead will support the Head of National Support Services to manage and deliver the National Support Services portfolio. This includes:

• 24-Hour Freephone Dementia Helpline

• National Dementia Advisor Service

• Dementia Safeguarding (Return Discussions, Herbert Protocol, Safe Connect)

• Counselling Service

• National Digital Service

The National Support Services Lead is an exciting opportunity to lead and further develop a team of highly skilled staff and volunteers committed to supporting people living with dementia and their families.

Successful applicant will care deeply about improving the quality of life of people impacted by dementia. You will demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills and understand the nature and experience of dementia

Our vibrant and busy service in North West Glasgow provides support to people concerned about their own or someone else's alcohol or drug use. We have a Recovery Hub however much of our work is carried out in the local community. We work with people at all stages on their journey providing both one to one appointments and group work.

Please note that this is a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2025.

You will be someone who can work well within a team and well with partner agencies, having excellent communication skills. You will act as a champion for our clients, sharing your experiences and knowledge and showing change is possible. This means offering a safe space for them to share what it's like for them so we can understand their needs and design a support plan that's right for them. You'll be part of our amazing Recovery Worker team and work alongside our partner agencies to ensure each client receives the full package of support needed to keep them safe. We'll also welcome your ideas as to how we can develop our support offering to be even more effective and so help more people. A driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.

We work with people at all stages of their journey providing both one-to-one appointments and group work. We are determined and always professional in our approach to each and every case and we never judge, we're just here to help.

You will work as part of a team with the aims of:

• understanding your clients
• keeping them safe
• creating a plan they can achieve with your support
• checking in with them and reviewing their progress
• keeping accurate and timely records of your contact with them
• working effectively with other social care providers e.g. Housing, to cover all aspects of their successful recovery
• continuously learning and reflecting to improve the outcomes for your clients
• supporting your colleagues across the service to deliver excellent care

Required Skills

To be successful in this role you will:

• have attained SVQ level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare or equivalent
• already be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or meet the registration requirements
• have some experience of working in a health, social care, or related setting
• have knowledge and understanding of delivering evidence-based interventions
• have experience of delivering group work, specifically in outreach and community settings
• knowledge of health and safety, including assessing clients in high-risk situations
• have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike
• be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise you work
• be comfortable using IT and digital media
• able to be flexible with your working hours on occasion and be happy to support other With You locations when needed

Ideally you will also have previous experience of working or volunteering with people who misuse substances. We welcome applications from those with lived experience.

You will also need to meet our safeguarding requirements of a satisfactory enhanced PVG check.
