We are recruiting two Family Group Decision Making Coordinators to join a new team in the Scottish Borders. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of test of change pilot to develop a rights-based approach to working with families and communities. Children 1st are trauma informed and strengths based in our approach to working with children and families.

Although this is a small service, you will be working alongside a wider Children 1st team, our colleagues in Children and Families Social Work and other multi-agency partners. You will have the opportunity to shape and develop a new service and a new way of working within the Scottish Borders.

The post holders will engage with children and families to ensure their voices are at the heart of planning and decision making in matters that affect them. We are therefore looking to recruit dynamic, experienced individuals who can drive the successful development and growth of this new and innovative partnership.

Children 1st along with partners share a determination to act upon the recommendations from The Independent Care Review and deliver The Promise to children and young people. We are also determined that the full incorporation of the UNCRC means that children will have their rights respected in all areas of their lives and will have a real say in the way they are supported. There are two fixed term posts, a full-time role of 35 hours per week and a part time role of 24 hours per week, funded until 31 July 2022.
