The role:

Building on a successful individual giving programme at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS), this role focuses on developing a new legacy and in-memory giving programme, encompassing marketing campaigns, stewardship, legacy administration and events.

This is permanent, part time role (22.5 hours per week) based at Edinburgh Zoo, but working across both sites which also covers Highland Wildlife Park.

Some of the things you’ll do:

• Work with the Fundraising Manager to develop and deliver compelling new legacy and in-memory giving campaigns for RZSS.
• Liaise with relevant colleagues, including fundraising, marketing and communications teams, to gain insights into our audiences and help to prepare legacy and in-memory giving copy and messaging.
• Lead on activities to promote legacies and in memory giving across all relevant RZSS platforms, including our websites, digital channels, events and direct mail.
• Lead on the planning and promotion of legacies and in-memory giving through on-site collateral and signage at Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park
• Develop and manage fundraising data on the CRM system relating to legacy and in memorial giving, supervising other staff when necessary to ensure all data is entered correctly and kept up to date, producing reports upon request and ensuring that financial information is handled with sensitivity.
• Use supporter data to inform and improve the legacy and in memorial programme.
• Identify trends in fundraising and recommend opportunities to senior colleagues.

What we’re looking for:

• Educated to Degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience in a similar role.
• CIOF Certificate of Fundraising or equivalent experience
• Extensive knowledge of donor cultivation and stewardship principles
• NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, e.g. producing creative materials for fundraising, with the ability to tailor complex information to a wide range of audiences/donors including those a senior level or requiring a sensitive approach
• Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role, meeting deadlines in a busy environment.

• Starting salary between £19,938 - £20,436 (offer based on experience / salary pro-rated based on 22.5hrs per week) with future salary progression up to £22,223 per annum (FTE £33,230 - £34,060 with future progression up to £37,038 per annum)

WLET’s voluntary Board of Trustees seeks to appoint a committed and capable individual to help make a step change in their capacity to support the local community. Providing support to the Board, acting as the point of contact with funders and stakeholders and actively progressing a range of projects, this post has transformative potential.

In addition to supporting a range of volunteer led services, the Trust is currently working on two significant projects:-

1. Phase 2 of the redevelopment of The Old School, Inverasdale

2. Poolewe development project

Candidates for the post of Development Manager are likely to have a background in charity and financial management or business development, have the ability to multi-task across a range of projects and have good experience of working in and for place-based communities. A track record in income generation, marketing and fundraising would be desirable.

The post holder will be required to explore and develop the potential for new initiatives both within and beyond existing projects. They will contribute significantly to strategic discussions and work closely with the Trustees. We are looking for a team player with great ideas, a practical hands-on approach and strengths in communicating and building relationships.

This post is funded by Foundation Scotland through the Recovery and Resilience Programme and administered by DTAS (Development Trusts Association Scotland).

The post holder will be an employee of WLET with 5 weeks annual leave and pension contributions will be paid. There is potential for the post to become permanent, subject to the success of the post holder in securing recurring core funding.

Location: While aspects of the role may be deliverable remotely, we are seeking a candidate who is able to live in or near to Inverasdale and be present at The Old School when necessary. The establishment of strong community relationships will be important.

About the Role:

As a Support Worker, you’ll work as part of a team in providing safe, secure, supported accommodation for the people who use our services. You’ll do this by providing practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives.

Main Responsibilities:

This Support Worker role at our Sauchiehall Street service involves working 27 hours per week across a variety of dayshifts, midshifts and backshifts, including some weekends. The earliest shift start time will be 7am, with the latest finish time being 10:15pm. The Support Worker will:

work as part of a team providing safe, secure, supported accommodation for homeless people.

support, review, monitor and evaluate through our case management system, to achieve a positive person-centred outcome for the people we work with in line with organisational, statutory and legislative requirements.

maintain and update all recording systems and documentation in line with relevant policies, procedures and practice guidelines, including the occupancy agreement, within required timeframes.

provide, plan and facilitate key work meetings, key work sessions, meetings, reviews and other internal/external meetings in conjunction with the person’s support plan.

provide general advocacy and advice to the people we support, including assistance to enable them to meet the conditions of their occupancy agreements.

About You:

• To join us, you need to have a genuine passion for helping people.
• Ideally, possess 1 year of experience of working with vulnerable people and challenging behaviour which can be from personal, voluntary and/or professional experience.
• Demonstrated commitment and ability to undertake care practice in accordance with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) code of practice, National Care Standards, Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care and the Associations policies and procedures.
• Ability to relate empathetically to people and recognise their right to choice and independence.
• Ability to work flexibly and as a lone worker.
• Able to use Microsoft or equivalent applications competently.
• Ideally, hold and SVQ level 2 or above and be willing to work towards an SVQ 3.
