Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Sustainable Transport Coordinator. A dynamic and confident self-starter, you will have excellent relationship management skills to enable us to maximise the carbon reduction for businesses and domestic customers in South East Scotland through providing specialist advice on adopting sustainable transport approaches.
The ideal candidate and the role
As Sustainable Transport Coordinator, you will be responsible for delivering high quality advice and audits to businesses with stretching targets. You will have the ability not only to advise, but to motivate businesses to implement changes. Giving presentations will be second nature to you, as well as the ability to inspire people to take action.
Ideally you will have a proven track record of giving advice in a professional setting, as well as working with businesses. You will lead the domestic transport advice service and support colleagues to deliver advice on a wide range of low carbon transport solutions including e-bikes.
You will have an active interest in the latest developments within sustainable transport, including technology-based solutions and have a passion about the opportunities that sustainable transport practices can present in terms of its impact on climate change and cost savings.
Home Energy Scotland is the free, impartial advice service funded by the Scottish Government and managed by the Energy Saving Trust. Changeworks is a leading environmental charity and social enterprise company in Scotland and delivers the Home Energy Scotland Advice Centre in the South East and Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

This role is key in building power in our movement to win a better transport system in Scotland – one that cuts climate emissions, connects communities and is run in the interests of passengers, not profit.
Transport is Scotland’s largest polluting sector, so tackling the transport system is vital for cutting fossil fuel use and climate emissions.
The focus of this role is our campaign for better buses. Our vision is of an accessible, extensive, publicly-owned bus network that’s free for everyone. A comprehensive, reliable bus network is essential for tackling climate change and reducing inequality – connecting communities and getting people out of private cars. However, the current network is run by private operators, often expensive and unreliable with routes cut and standards declining.
Friends of the Earth Scotland is committed to building a powerful movement for system change, and we believe that communities must take the lead in the transition away from our car-dominated system, so that what replaces it works for all of Scotland.
The successful candidate will have experience and skills in local organising or supporting volunteers. We are looking for someone who can bring new people into the movement, and support and motivate volunteers and local organisers in their communities.

The Role of CEO:
In 2026, as EFCT celebrates its milestone 25th event and welcomes its 1,000,000th visitor, the organisation is looking to the future and seeking a visionary Chief Executive to lead its next chapter.
The new CEO will work in close partnership with the Board of Trustees to steer the long-term strategic direction of the charity, ensuring the continued success, sustainability and creative evolution of its flagship event. They will safeguard the Trust’s financial health, uphold best-practice governance, and provide strong, values-led leadership to the operations, creative, and production teams. As the public ambassador for EFCT, the CEO will build and nurture key relationships with partners, funders, local authorities, media, and the wider community—protecting the reputation of the event and amplifying its impact.
The CEO will also oversee the Trust’s community grant-giving programme, ensuring that the surplus generated by the event continues to benefit organisations across Highland Perthshire in meaningful and impactful ways. With responsibility for strategic planning, financial management, operational delivery, risk oversight and compliance, they will ensure that the Trust continues to operate transparently, ethically, and sustainably.
Candidates will bring proven senior leadership experience, ideally gained in a creative, cultural, events, charity or tourism environment. They will have successfully led organisations through development and change, managed complex operational programmes, and implemented financially sound, future-focused strategies. A strong communicator and relationship-builder, they will demonstrate high emotional intelligence, commercial acumen, and an ability to inspire multidisciplinary teams.
