Passmores House is a residential recovery community for people with a dependency on drugs and/or alcohol, we offer residential detoxification and stabilisation packages, as well a full rehabilitation programme, all built around the individual. The house is based in a beautifully renovated and historic building, set in a leafy park close to the transport hub of Harlow in Essex.
The Senior Substance Misuse Nurse will use their specialist knowledge and skills in substance misuse to lead the nursing team.
The post holder will assist on the compliance of essential standards relating to Care Quality Commission (CQC) and NICE guidelines. Ensuring the highest practice standards are met relating to risk assessments, recovery care plans, ITEP mapping and medicines management
In this role you will work alongside the WDP Lead Nurse and Specialist and Consultant Psychiatrist’s, ensuring interventions are delivered in accordance with evidence based and best practice guidance.
In addition, the post holder will liaise with the NHS Accountable Officer, WDP Lead Nurse and WDP Quality Manager regarding ongoing audits.
We are currently looking for nurses who would like to gain experience in the developing area of detoxification from alcohol and those with complex needs from use of the new wave of psychoactive drugs as well as opiate detoxification and stabilisation.
As our clients present with a multitude of both physical and Psychological challenging problems, we are offering excellent on the job training in house as well as the chance of further courses once the probationary period is completed satisfactorily.
Good communication skills, written and verbal, are essential. Confidence to work as part of a multidisciplinary team with an interest and commitment in group work. Participation in the units group programme is a requirement as team working is essential.
