The PEEK Sessional Worker will work as part of the wider #TEAMPEEK and will engage with delivery partners including schools to support children, young people and families in programme delivery across Glasgow. They will work to delivery outcomes to enable children, young people and families to ‘play’, ‘create’ and ‘thrive’.

Are you passionate about working with children, young people and families?
Barnardo's Stronger Families service is offering an exciting opportunity to join an established team who deliver Attachment and Trauma Informed Practice models of support to families. You will be required to deliver direct services to families who have complex needs and who are at risk of family breakdown. You will have experience of working with children and families and a working knowledge of attachment theories in practice.
Barnardo's has had a presence in Fife for over 20 years, working with children and families has been a consistent feature of our services in Fife, with our Stronger Families services being in existence for several years. Families must be referred to this service by a social worker, live in the Fife area, have children aged between 0-13 yrs old and are typically on the verge of family breakdown.
You will be required to work intensively with the family and partner agencies to ensure that, where possible, relationships within the home improve and children can safely remain at home.
We work with a flexible, whole family approach to support and so alongside formal 12-week reviews, support is assessed on a needs-based basis and therefore, frequency and intensity of support can vary out with these reviews. This also includes supporting families at fracture points – morning routine, evening routine and weekend support – where appropriate.
You will be required to design and deliver direct services to families who have a range of complex needs. Experience of working with children and families and a working knowledge of attachment theories and Trauma Informed Practice would be extremely desirable as would a knowledge of The Promise and it's implications for service delivery. Glasgow East End Community Carers are looking for an experienced person to lead on our work with parent/carers and our Autism Family Support programme.
We have a large group of parent/carers who have children with autism, and they come looking for advice, information and support as they deal with the challenges of supporting their child/ren with autism.
We provide a programme of supports which include:
Play Sense – a weekly pre-school age play group
Family Activity Programme – a range of events, outings, day-trips, sports etc for children with autism and their parents.
Autism Training – a programme of training sessions which covers a wide range of topics relating to autism, ADHD etc.
Autism Helpline – a schedule of 30 min conversations with an Autism specialist for personalised advice and support.
Autism Peer Support group – a monthly group to allow parent/carers to meet and chat and support each other.
Autism Family WhatsApp group/PlaySense WhatsApp group – where parent/carers can encourage and support each other and keep in touch with the centre.
This role would be to lead on the delivery of this programme with the support of two support workers and our child-care workers.
The Lead role is responsible to the Carers Hub Manager, and the role is based at our Carers Hub at 26 Penston Road, Glasgow G33 4AG.

Elpis Trust delivers a person centred housing support service to 19 young women who are experiencing homelessness or are care leavers aged between 16-25 years. The supported accommodation is based in the Core service and satellite flats in the Ruchill and Maryhill area of Glasgow. Elpis provides a high-quality support service which addresses young woman’ identified and assessed needs and reflects the aims of the service to work within relevant organisational and statutory policies, including health and safety, employment and equality laws. This includes adhering to Scottish Social Services Council codes of practice, National Care Standards and contractual requirements. Staffs work closely with the young women to write up support plans and deliver an individually tailored service, utilising Ladders to Success and GIRFEC, SHANARRI Outcomes.

About us:
Home-Start offers guidance, friendship and practical support to families across Clackmannanshire who have at least one child under the age of twelve. We work with families to help them overcome issues impacting their lives, through a range of family support services. Our families are each unique, however common issues we support include: isolation and loneliness, mental health difficulties, bereavement, family breakdown, addiction, and physical ill-health. We’ve been supporting local families across Clackmannanshire since 1988. The role of our trustees:
Charity trustees are responsible – and accountable - for the governance and strategy of their charity. They are responsible for making sure that their charity is administered effectively and can account for its activities and outcomes.
As a trustee on our board, you will contribute to:
1. Providing leadership and direction within the ethos of Home-Start.
2. Ensuring the scheme has a clear vision, mission and strategic direction.
3. Being responsible for the effective performance and management of the scheme.
4. Ensuring the scheme complies with legal and regulatory requirements, the objects of the scheme, the governing documents including the Home-Start Standards and Methods of Practice, the Home-Start Agreement and quality standards.
5. Securing and guarding the scheme’s assets and taking care of their security, deployment, and proper application.
6. Ensuring that the scheme’s governance is of the highest possible standard.
7. Undertaking an ambassadorial role for the scheme.
8. Appointing sub-committees and agreeing their terms of reference and membership.
Time Commitment:
Our board meets every 7-8 weeks, a hybrid approach where trustees can attend in-person meetings at our offices in Alloa or via Teams. Our offices are fully accessible.
As a trustee, you would also attend our Annual General Meeting (AGM) once a year.
Support:
Volunteers are the heart of Home-Start, and so in return for your time and commitment, you will be fully supported in role by our Chair. A full induction will be provided, and opportunities for both training and networking are also available.
All reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
