Role
We seek two part-time Learning Coordinators to deliver non-formal and accredited learning programmes in the Highland and Moray regions to individuals and small groups of disabled people, carers and those experiencing barriers to work and education.
The successful applicants will be committed to:
1) Engaging and supporting disabled people and carers to overcome barriers and embark on personalised learning journeys, making positive, sustained transitions into their chosen progression routes and positive destinations.
2) Being an active part of the Lead Scotland team as we develop new, exciting learning opportunities in the north of Scotland for the next three years.
You will be responsible for
1) Delivering and assessing one to one and small group, non-formal and accredited learning programmes to agreed targets as defined by our funder. You will deliver our accredited Community Action Leadership Award, the Adult Achievement Award and other courses as defined by learners.
2) Working alongside and supporting volunteers in delivering learning.
Experience of managing volunteers would be an advantage, as would a track record of experience in community learning and adult guidance and support.
This post will suit those who are passionate about the transformative power of adult learning, who have excellent communication skills and a flexible and creative approach to problem-solving.
You must be enthusiastic with good organisational skills and have previous experience of supporting disabled people experiencing a range of barriers, of working one-to-one with learners, and of designing and delivering learning programmes. A full driving licence and access to a car is essential to travel to homes and communities across this rural area. You will hold an Assessors Award or be willing to work towards this.
This post is home-based in Highland or Moray and involves regulated work for which a satisfactory PVG will be required. Lead Scotland has a Recruiting People with Convictions Policy.

Youth Engagement Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role raising awareness of sight loss for blind and partially sighted young people in Scotland, as part of RNIB’s award-winning youth forum; Haggeye.
Haggeye provides a friendly and supportive platform which allows young people to raise awareness of what it's like to be blind or partially sighted in Scotland today and what's important to them. Our members work together to help create a society where sight loss is not a barrier to living life to the full.
As the Haggeye Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and growing the Haggeye membership
- Developing and delivering a range of events for young people
- Developing and delivering a range of training to members in response to identified needs
- Coordinating Haggeye involvement in the Scottish Youth Parliament
- Managing volunteers to provide support for young people and activities
About you
You will have experience of working with young people and facilitating in person and online engagement. You will also need knowledge of provision and support for young people with vision impairment and their families.
Knowledge of relevant legislative and policy frameworks in Scotland and across the UK is equally important.

Sight Scotland Veterans provides support to all veterans in Scotland who are experiencing changes to their sight.
We are now hiring an Assistive Technology Lead.
The job will, therefore, lead and be responsible for planning, managing and developing Assistive Technology across Sight Scotland Veterans ensuring it is the “golden thread” that runs through all our services for both staff and veterans. This will include the development of an Assistive Technology strategy and business model, as well as integrating IT and Assistive Technology.
Building relationships with key stakeholders, organisations and product developers is key in order to ensure the most current provision of assistive technology is available across the organisation.
This role will support the delivery of the Sight Scotland Strategy specifically in building our knowledge of Assistive Technology and the aids available to transform lives. This knowledge will allow us to continue informing and supporting veteran’s independent living.

What this job is about
The post holder will assist the Head of Estates and Buildings and Facilities Manager to ensure excellent standards of facilities management. Responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our fleet of vehicles. First point of contact in the Facilities Department. You will also act as a Fire Marshall and a nominated First Aider for the building.
What we want you to be responsible and accountable for
- Manage a fleet of vehicles;
- Ensure all company vehicles have an MOT.
- Ensure all company vehicles are serviced in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
- Book company vehicles into garage for repairs as required.
- Liaise with driver and insurance company in the event of vehicle accidents.
- Keep insurance database up to date with fleet registration numbers.
- Liaise with RAC regarding breakdowns and recovery of vehicles.
- Act as first point of contact in the Facilities Department.
- Be the main point of contact for calls/emails regarding Building and Estate maintenance, liaising with Facilities Manager and Maintenance Supervisor calling appropriate contractors when required.
- Monitor, respond to and update the online Facilities Helpdesk.
- Manage net2 access control system.
- Issue, amend and delete access fobs as required.
- Access and review CCTV when required.
- Manage the reception function at Robertson Avenue for the Sight Scotland / Sight Scotland Veterans Head Office and Scottish Braille Press joint reception.
- Provide reception cover when required.
- Issue purchase orders for supplies and works
- Process invoices coding to appropriate cost centers and expense heads
- Process credit card statements for Estates and Buildings Department
- Manage filing systems for the Estates and Buildings Department.
- Work across all Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans sites as required.
