Role

The Director of Justice Services will play a crucial role in building and maintaining our core business - supporting those who have been involved in the justice system by ensuring we continue to provide relevant and appropriate services. Embedding best practice, you will ensure our services ultimately deliver the best outcomes for those we support whilst also building both our sustainability and reputation.
Embracing innovation, our Director of Justice Services will support the Chief Executive and Board to better understand the needs of people in the justice system and ensure that we develop relevant, sustainable and people-focused services. As a best practice expert, you will build and maintain effective networks and relationships with a diverse range of external stakeholders.
A solutions-focused and forward-thinking leader, you will bring relevant service delivery experience coupled with a strong understanding of the complexities of our client group and a desire to deliver change. With the ability to inspire and develop others you will be able to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at a senior and strategic level whilst also enthusing and exciting our board and supporters with your passion for supporting people.

*Sacro embraces agile working and whilst our Headquarters are in Edinburgh, the successful candidate could be based in one of our 4 “hubs” – we have offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen or Kirkcaldy. Custody Peer Mentor - Positive Outcomes Project (POP Plus)

We are looking for a dedicated individual to forge strong relationships with people and services across the city of Glasgow. Using a trauma-informed approach you will work with people of all ages and from every walk of life, supporting them in making positive changes. You will work alongside Police Scotland’s POP team and attend custody suites across the city of Glasgow to identify and help those that need support and direction.
You must be a skilled communicator who has an ability to connect with people facing a challenging range of issues. A team player, you will work closely with partners across Glasgow to achieve the right outcomes for those we are supporting. Often the people you encounter will be at a low point in their lives so you must be able to show empathy and forge a connection during that ‘reachable moment’, then back it up with the ability to create strong, trusting relationships which support people to access the help they need.
If people describe you as; level-headed, a listener, compassionate, patient, a great communicator, hard worker, resilient, dedicated, great in a crisis - and you have the energy and commitment to always go the extra mile to support people effectively then we would like to hear from you.
The role demands regular evening weekend work, followed up with community outreach support during the week.
We are looking for individuals who have:
- Direct experience of recovery and/or mental health issues
- Past experience of the Criminal Justice System (Please note that successful candidates will have to go through Police Vetting before being authorised access to Police Scotland Custody Suites).
It would be beneficial for applicants to have a full driving licence and access to a car satisfying the appropriate insurance requirements.
Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is a requirement for the post.

FearFree Support Worker

FearFree is the only male and LGBT+ domestic abuse victim support service in Scotland and continues to be recognised as the only person-centred support service in Scotland available for male and LGBT+ victims of domestic abuse. This is particularly important given the steep rise in reported domestic abuse incidents over the recent years.
We are looking for candidates who have experience of working with individuals who have experienced domestic abuse. You must also have experience of working with vulnerable people from diverse backgrounds as well as an excellent understanding of the effects and issues facing those who have experienced domestic abuse. You will need to be an effective communicator, highly organised and have effective casework management skills.
You will work closely with other partners and agencies and be expected to ensure the continued development of good partnership working.
Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is a requirement this post.

About the role
As the Registered Manager, you will be an experienced leader leading a team working with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing them with practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives e.g. keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing.
As the Registered Manager you will:
- Maintain the continuing relevance of services to individuals’ needs and purchaser requirements by ongoing planning, monitoring and evaluation.
- Oversee the financial aspects of the service, managing significant budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and making financial decisions.
- Where a need or an opportunity is identified, lead on the development of new services, support business growth and maintain reputational excellence.
- Comply with governance, law and legislation including local authority compliance, Care Inspectorate (at level 5 and above), SSSC and safeguarding procedures.
- Support the senior management team in the streamlining, promotion and monitoring of quality assurance systems which meets the needs of individual services as well as the overall service delivery in the region.
- Develop, monitor and implement supervision and appraisal systems for staff.
About You
You will have passion and drive to take forward a well-established Service and Team. Be passionate; and committed to the overall aims and objectives of the service and have the belief that people can live fulfilling lives with the right support in place.
You should also have:
- Experience of working with vulnerable people and leading a service delivery team, including managing the provision of a safe operating environment in a relevant context.
- The ability to negotiate with a wide range of internal and external partners and build positive relationships including local authorities and housing associations.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise your own time and workload to meet a number of different and competing tasks in sometimes pressurised environment.
- Social Service and Health Care at level 9 (SCQF) or other speciality/qualification recognised by the SSSC for registration purposes as well as a relevant management qualification.
