The External Engagement Lead is key part of the Communications and Fundraising team, focused on developing and delivering a creative and engaging communications approach with our external audiences: government, funders and other key stakeholders.
You'll be joining a small team of colleagues who are keen to help each other succeed, so be prepared to collaborate and work in partnership across the organisation. You'll also be working alongside our brilliant Senior Volunteers, who are really passionate about Scouting and its tangible impact on young people. Scouts Scotland is a charity that supports volunteers across Scotland to deliver Scouting locally. We provide support and training to our adult volunteers, to help them deliver a powerful programme of activities to young people. From Squirrels to Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers, our volunteers give young people opportunities to develop Skills for Life.
Scouts Scotland also operates three Adventure Centres that cater to Scout groups, schools and other youth groups, providing opportunities for structured outdoor learning based on the Curriculum for Excellence.
We are currently working to deliver our Skills for Life Strategy, empowering our fantastic volunteers to deliver an amazing programme, supporting positive community impact and supporting more young people to develop key skills through scouting, supporting them to build positive futures.
This is an exciting time to join the team, with a number of opportunities to get stuck into. We're looking for someone who can help us tell a compelling story and then ensure we're speaking with the right people to help more young people benefit from the skills for life and outdoor education opportunities that Scouting provides.
