With responsibility for the day-to-day co-ordination of our friendship services, you will help create a culture that promotes inclusion and diversity, flexibility, productivity, creativity, innovation and growth.

People-centred, you will work closely with the friendship manager and head of information, advice and friendship services to implement the friendship strategy to attract and retain talent and create an environment where staff and volunteers feel valued and supported to do their very best.

Finn’s Place (SCO45350) is a very successful ‘Wellbeing’ center based in Langside Parish Church which has been in existence for 10 years. It welcomes attendees from across Glasgow and the West of Scotland to its varied activities. All feel welcomed and refreshed by their attendance and report improved wellbeing. We are looking for our next Director to take Finn’s Place onto the next successful 10 years.

This post is full-time (Flexible hours), with a salary range of £27,188 to £31,875, annually, depending on previous experience, and for a fixed term of 2 years in the first instance.

Finn’s Place needs an individual who shares our vision of a Wellbeing Centre which is a safe, warm space where all are welcome, and all will be heard and accepted. We adhere to the ‘Five Ways of Wellbeing’, connect, be active, take notice, keep learning and give back.

We are looking for an innovative, engaging, warm, sociable, and welcoming person with excellent written and verbal communications skills who has a passion for wellbeing and community engagement. Experience of project management, staff recruitment and supervision, budget management, securing funding are essential.

Angus Carers Centre is a rights-based charity working with and for unpaid carers from all walks of life living across Angus. We exist to improve the quality of life for all carers by building genuine and equal relationships, connecting carers with each other to create a sense of belonging and community, providing practical and emotional supports, and influencing change at local and national level.

Established in 1996, we have grown significantly over the last 25 years, and we are now supporting nearly 2,000 unpaid adult and young carers across Angus. Our talented and passionate team of 25 staff and over 20 volunteers ensure the needs of our carers are meet. The postholder will:

• Lead, recruit, and support volunteers to ensure they are motivated, and feel valued and respected making a lasting difference in our communities.

• Develop volunteering strategy, ensuring it is inclusive, future-focused, and carers-centered.

• Promote and champion the role of volunteers by building and maintaining relationships with key partners, local organisations, and influencers.

• Provide safe, nurturing, and developmental support supervision to a team of volunteers.

• Design, deliver and evaluate volunteering activities ensuring they align with local need and organisational vision.

• Continuously evidence and communicate the impact of volunteering, internally and externally to further demonstrate its value: individual, organisational, and societal.

• Establish strong relationships with other volunteer organisations to share learnings and good practice and build a network of support.

• Build a network of supportive organisations and communities of interest to strengthen the role and profile of unpaid carers.

• Collaborate with other teams, business support, finance, fundraising and others, to support all aspects of volunteering, including events management, training, and professional development.

• Keep abreast of legislation, policy and good practice related to volunteering.

Qualifications and knowledge:

• Degree in community education, social care, project management or relevant experience in developing, leading, and supporting volunteers.

• Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection.

• Full Driving License and a suitable vehicle for work with business insurance.

Experience

• Experience in all aspects of effective Volunteer Management (recruitment, training, support)

Working hours

16 hours per week subject to organisational needs. Some work may have to be undertaken outside office hours, including evenings and weekends.

Special conditions

The post entails work with vulnerable people and falls within the definition of “regulated work” under the provision of the Protection of Vulnerable groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The post holder will require to be registered as a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme, which will involve a Disclosure Scotland check.

Dunfermline Foodbank is offering an exciting and challenging job opportunity to assist the foodbank manager to help manage and lead a committed group of volunteers as they seek to alleviate hunger, put food on the table, restore dignity and revive hope to local people in crisis in the west of Fife.

Dunfermline Foodbank, established as a Scottish Charity in 2012, has fed over 26,000 men, women and children through its network of five foodbanks covering the west of Fife, as a franchisee of the respected Trussell Trust network of UK foodbanks.

Over the last 12 years, we have expanded our operation to include 5 satellites and a central warehouse, also increasing the number of volunteers to over 200 to better support those affected by food poverty in the West Fife area.

We require a passionate, enthusiastic and organised Assistant Foodbank Manager to continue to help lead us forward to meet future challenges and provide an excellent service for the community.

The working hours are 20 hours per week with a degree of flexibility, covering the open times of our foodbanks, occasional evening presentations and limited weekend work.

Remuneration reflects the responsibility of the post at £13,440 per annum.
