We have a new and exciting opportunity for an Active Travel Senior Project Officer to work within The Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA) to help achieve Scotland’s ambitious net zero carbon emissions target by 2045. The CNPA, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF), is currently in the development phase of its transformational Cairngorms 2030 programme: Heritage Horizons.
Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager within CNPA, you will be providing support in the development of the Cairngorms National Park Authority’s Active and Sustainable Travel Strategy and supporting documents.
Working across CNPA departments and in partnership with external organisations, you will build and manage relationships with key partners and stakeholders to identify key sites where interventions could have the greatest impact on improving walking, cycling and wheeling access.
This role will require travel and work at locations in and around the park as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans. Candidates should be based within commutable distance to the Cairngorms National Park.
About you
You should have good knowledge of the Cairngorms National Park area and communities within it. This will be demonstrable through your experience of stakeholder outreach, consultation and community engagement.
You will have the ability to build relationships with ease across a wide range of partners including senior management, technical staff and general public.
We will look for evidence of your experience in Project Management, with knowledge in one of the following areas: transport planning/ urban design / sustainable transport/ active travel.
You will be skilled and knowledgeable in the development of strategies, frameworks and plans.
