About the Role
The role is within an intensive short term move on service based in Pollok working with individuals who have experienced homelessness, addiction and mental health issues. Staff support people with their recovery, moving on and moving into communities to improve their quality of life through a person centred therapeutic approach to help people take control of their lives.
The team support the people who use our services with daily living tasks, medication, liaise with addiction services along with primary health care services, enabling individuals to achieve their chosen outcomes. The service works in partnership with the Glasgow homelessness, mental health and addiction teams. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to make a difference to people who have experienced
What we are looking for
Senior practitioners provide direction and guidance to a team of Practitioners supporting individuals in homes and communities to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
Working with service users to define their own support plans the Senior Practitioner will coordinate, evaluate and review this support while providing practice supervision and mentorship to Practitioners.
Knowledge of mental health issues and an understanding of the difficulties faced by people with mental health problems Ability to competently respond to risks and challenges that may occur while supporting individuals. You should also have excellent communications skills (verbal and written) and good therapeutic focused inter-personal skills.
The successful candidate will ideally hold a SVQ3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or the willingness to undertake this.
