Zero Tolerance works to end violence against women and girls (VAWG) in Scotland by changing attitudes and behaviour so that VAWG is not tolerated at any level of Scottish society and abusive men are held to account.
We are at an exciting place in our journeyand are seeking a new chair to lead the organisation. Zero Tolerance celebrates 30 years of campaigning in 2022 and we have recently launched a new 4-year strategy with the following priorities:
1.Strengthen understanding of emerging and neglected forms of VAWG to enable more inclusive and impactful prevention activity
2.Drive improvements in media reporting on VAWG
3.Embed gender equality and VAWG prevention in children and young people’s environments
4.Make Zero Tolerance a place where feminist leadership happens.
Previous Board experience is preferred for the Chair role although we aim to support new and different voices within Zero Tolerance, and we will provide training and/or mentoring to the right candidate.
What does a Zero Tolerance trustee do?
As Chair you are a charity trustee. Trustees look after Zero Tolerance’s assets and make sure the charity fulfils its main aim, which is the prevention of violence against women in all its forms (please see Chair Information pack for more information).
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for volunteers who are:

We are open to as many different voices as there are different experiences, but particularly welcome applications from the following:

·People with experience of mental health problems
·People with experience of caring roles
·Care experienced people
·Young people under 30
This isn’t just a tick box exercise - all experience is welcome. We know that we all need to learn together to improve our understanding of the barriers potential board members might face.
What do we offer?
·The chance to use your experience to shape ourwork to end violence against women and girls in Scotland
